This has already been a "fun" day reading all the replies and retweets of this.

 

Until yesterday, I had no idea a capable Switch emulator even existed.

 

This is really cool they have this since you shouldn't have bombs yet. He has another video for how to get the grapple hook early to get bombs early.

 

Can we make a Metroid thread please?

Metroid Dread is kind-of a fluke though. Every other game I've tried so far has issues that make it hard to enjoy the game. That's why Kotaku is posting about it.

I hope Hyrule Warrios gets a 60fps boost on PC (if it hasn't already), I'd love to play a well performing version of that game, even if it means I have to post a copy of my game with today's newspaper to prove I'm not a pirate before the internet comes for me.

Anecdotally, I just got the last copy of Dread at my local target, so I’m thinking it must be doing at least okay sales-wise this week

 

The PAL versions are always worse lol

 

Better than the patched Japanese version for speed running in Mario 64 though

 

Almost done with Dread but geez Louise it’s like the game doesn’t register some of the button inputs. Just spent 5 minutes trying to multi spin until it finally worked.

Edit: Just quit and took the game out. The game says to push B for space jump and it works 50% of the time and I can’t make it across a jump which requires you to push it like 10 consecutive times.

 

you need to push just at the right time and I found holding the direction you want to go in really helps.

I have to say I am also not the biggest fan of this mechanic, it's way too finicky.

 

I finally got it down. You have to push B when Samus is on the way back down during the space jump.

 

Not trying to be rude, but is this your first metroid game? Space jump is actually less finicky in this game than any previous one.

 

space jump, yes, but spin jump is not.

 

It is actually my first Metroid game. I enjoy it so far so I’ll play through Super Metroid on NSO when I’m done with Dread.

 

Trying to decide between Metroid and Skyward Sword. Metroid seems more modern and polished, but Skyward Sword is the only Zelda game I haven't played yet.

 

Metroid needs sales more.

 

As someone who loves Skyward Sword, get Metroid.

Very interesting about CyberConnect2 thanking Nintendo for being the best platform holder for supporting 3rd parties.

 

Loving Metroid but the chances of me actually finishing it are slim to nil with my level of coordination
