For me it was worth it. The joy cons in the grip aren't horrible but they were far from great. Having the buttons and analog sticks be vertical to each other and the + - button positions were all annoying to me. Pro controller is up there with the dualshock 4 for my favourite controller honestly.

I have a 4 hour car ride ahead of me next weekend so I guess I should try and finally get a case.

I know we're all still on the Switch hype train but I'm stoked for this.

So, I got Super Bomberman R last night. We just got done with 6 straight hours of play. Started with 4 player local versus with another couple, then both girlfriends went to sleep and me and my buddy went online (two players can go online per console).

I love it. I know there's not a ton of resources online for it so if anyone has any unanswered questions lmk. It isn't worth the $50 ($40 through Prime on Amazon) if you won't have a couple of people to play it with regularly, but as a couch versus game I see this getting infinitely more mileage than something like Mario Kart.

Took a break from Zelda to play a bit of Shovel Knight.

Plague Knight's control scheme took a while to hit off for me but Spectre Knight clicked immediately. I love this entire franchise so much. Favorite platformer.

Is it okay with the analog sticks?

Shovel Knight's health power up is a turkey on a plate while Spectre Knight's is also a turkey except only the bones are left. Amusing.

Yeah, that was the part I was supposed to address before I saw the turkey thing.

Funny thing I started playing with the d-pad, which didn't bother me at all actually (I really though it would). And without noticing about halfway through the stage somehow I started using the joystick. I actually only realized it when I stopped to check on my phone. So that's a yes for me.

Obviously it would be a different experience from others, but both controls are working well for me. Also I've been going to all the secret areas as well so I've been doing a lot of trick shots and whatnots. Game is really really fun.

I have heard that the analog sticks are different from most analog sticks in ways that make them more suited for 2D games than most analog sticks. Turns out Nintendo is smart.

Yeah, they remind of the "D stick" from Neo Geo Pocket Color, which is probably the most satisfyingly responsive directional input to ever exist. I love the Joycon analog sticks. I switched over to my Xbone for the first time since launch to watch Netflix and legitimately struggled to navigate because the range of motion was so different lol

Do you have a source for this? The only other controller I've been using consistently is the xbox 360 one and I don't think I've been able to play platformers with it. I just want to make sure I'm not imagining that joycon is better in that department.

Sorry I heard it on of the bigger video game podcasts but that's it. They might have been speculating based on their experience but it would make sense.

I spotted something. In this video, they play Sunshine, and it's clearly in HD, even more so than I have seen from Dolphin. It might hint towards an eventual Sunshine HD.

I bought Shovel Knight for the third time and well worth it. Now have it on PS4, 3DS, and Switch.

I bought shovel knight on the switch but haven't played. I don't know much about it other than I've seen people say good things. What can I expect?

@Taketimeandfind Think in the direction of Mega Man or Duck Tales for the NES
