You've made this comment before and if it's a joke, I want in. Why skip over 6?

I just want some new announcements. I don't need to see more about BOTW2 or Arceus. I just want to know what I'll be playing this November and December.

I get it. I like it. It would probably drive some people up the wall. They'd be like, where's 6? Is it stuck in Japan? Did it go missing? OH MY GOD DID I SLEEP THROUGH 6?!!

I'm on Chapter 3 and I dunno. It has its moments that are sorta fun, I guess. I like fighting bosses. But as a whole... it's got some major pacing issues. I feel like I have to go 45 minutes of dialogue and walking around town before I have like 10 minutes of actual gameplay.

I’m also in chapter 3 and it’s a slooogggg right now. I love the look of the game and there’s been some interesting stuff but yeah, just running errands in this town is incredibly dull.

I was coming in here hoping somebody was further along and could tell me if the game opens up/it starts moving faster because I’m pretty close to just giving up on it.

Almost all the reviews I saw was glowing and I was super excited to get this but the comments here are a bummer. I’ll probably still do it though.

I feel like they could’ve easily edited a bunch of stuff out and just put a bunch of new stuff in a good dlc

my uncle passed away in a tragic j/o related accident last night while playing Kena

he died doing what he loved: cryptically informing me about wether a game is good or not

Yeah. It’s a bit of a disservice to Zelda and Earthbound when people mention them to describe this game. I get that it draws heavy inspiration from them, but this developer's execution has a very amateurish feel to it that I just can't shake.

i actually really enjoy the game when I’m walking around solving puzzles/whacking snakes, even if it often feels like a browser game for preteens. But constant filler dialogue (and this quest where I have to cook better than a casino owner??? For some reason) is a bummer.

I wish I was further enough in this game to develop a more informed opinion, but based on what I have played so far, "amateurish" and "browser game for preteens" feel incredibly harsh and unfair to me.

From what I understand, this game was made by three people over the course of six years. I think the end result is better than what some larger companies put out; it's a fairly good-looking retro-styled game and I think the dedication to what they made shows.

That said, I do wonder if people's anticipation for this game and the comparisons to Zelda and Earthbound have set some wrong expectations that this game couldn't hope to fill. This game feels very much like it's interested in telling a story first and foremost, and the gameplay is a method to get players to the next part of the story.

The comment before about the game "opening up"; I don't know if you mean like an overworld like Zelda with multiple places to explore. I thought it was like that at first too, but I've come to the understanding that this is not that kind of game.

From what I've read, It's linear, there's no backtracking, and it sounds like it's incredibly easy to miss stuff. I did hear that the developers might be adding a Chapter Select in the future, which would be a big help if they do. But it's not the kind of game that opens up. It's the kind of game that leads you along.

I guess I just feel a little bad for the developers here. I dunno, maybe my opinion will change as I get further in the game. Maybe it falls apart.

Oh yeah. I enjoy swinging the frying pan and shooting the gun. And the switching between characters to solve puzzles is simple but fun.

Don't feel bad for them. People are obviously buying the game and some are enjoying it a lot.

Just finished the prologue. Not forming an opinion yet but you definitely have to enjoy dialogue.

I’m still disappointed that Baldo apparently isn’t good. A Zelda type game with the animation of studio ghibli films deserves to be amazing.

It would be great if they just did a montage of all the franchises they have absolutely no plans on bringing back.

i dunno, I love the atmosphere and characters but I also feel like the game trailers made it seem like an adventure game with dungeon crawling, secrets and exploration and so far I feel like I’m just reading filler dialogue and being told to go buy crabs or collect fruit. There are times where it barely feels like a game, it’s more like a visual novel. I want to keep playing because the few hints they’ve dropped about the actual story seem very interesting, but they bogged it down with meaningless conversations and a glacial pace.
