Nintendo holds completed games back for whatever reason all the time. This is well-known by now. Metroid Dread has apparently been done for a looooooong time, and yet it's just coming out this October. They're also apparently sitting on whatever Retro was making when they took over Metroid Prime 4, which was supposedly done or almost done. I wouldn't be surprised in the least if Bayonetta 3 was literally already finished and they just are making Platinum sit on it for some reason known only to them.

 

It sucks animal crossing is basically dead since now it’s easy to get any of the amiibo cards

 

I doubt that'd make AC "dead" to the general population who probably don't even know what amiibos are. I mean, knock-off NFC tags have been on Amazon for a long time. I think what's more likely is that everyone got their fun out of it around the same time because we were all bored under lockdown at the beginning of the pandemic, and it eventually got old

 

I think it's because they made a half assed game and removed a ton of content.

 

Yeah I wouldn’t be surprised if Bayonetta 3 was ready to release this fall but Nintendo thought it was crowded as is and told them to wait until next year to release it.

The fall is pretty packed. Anyone tried Wario Ware yet?

 

I’m almost done playing through the story mode, I like it a lot. Didn’t touch other modes yet, but I can see how hectic this can get with multiplayer

 

I was legit playing it more than 8 hours some days. It's my first AC and I guess it sounds like others had better longevity but I can't complain about what I got out of it

 

When I need to relax I’ll open up AC and see everyone on my island all happy I’m not dead. Then I kill some roaches, pull some weeds, get some of the updated content. It’s still fun, but it doesn’t get my attention like it used to.

 

Has anyone picked up the new WarioWare? Curious how people are liking it. How does it compare to the Wii one?

Wasn't he talking about Animal Crossing? Or did Monolith make Animal Crossing and I just wasn't aware?

 

They’re support development for the latest game, they worked with nintendo to make it

Can’t believe Eastward is out this week!

 

Seconding the question on warioware. Anyone pick it up yet? Wanting to?

 

From what I’ve read, it’s mostly good but isn’t anything fantastic

 

Hopefully we don't get burned on Eastward like we did with Baldo. So far everything looks great, though.

 

Did eastward also get heavily delayed? I don’t remember hearing much about it until that nintendo direct, really hope it’s good

 

We’ve seen a lot more from Eastward too, lots of gameplay demos etc I’m not as worried

 

Still waiting on reviews before buying anything, but yeah, they seem more confident than the Baldo devs.

 

I'd just like to take a moment to muse on how unfortunate it is that we have such promising indie developers that are creating games with wonderful concepts and design choices but suffer so badly in execution.

In recent history, besides Baldo, I'm also thinking of Cris Tales and Backbone in particular, both games that look wonderful and have a lot of positive things going for them, but have some crippling fatal flaw that keeps them from achieving greatness. In the former case, it's broken game mechanics, and in the latter, a dumpster fire of an ending.

I confess I've not actually played any of these games myself. I'm just going by what I've heard across the internet, but the consensus seems enough to where I feel justified in making these statements.

so excited for Eastward. Chucklefish also has a great track record so I'm not too worried and it's the second (?) game they've published - the other being Stardew Valley.

 

I have it on good authority that Eastward is actually Very Good.
