They are both also centered around a female protagonist facing/dealing with their mental health. Which is super cool.

Yeah, putting it in the same tier as garchomp is so insulting

Weird. I haven’t played a ton of Unite just because of time constraints recently, but from what I have played, I thought Charizard was pretty decent and can be a genuine pain to deal with. I figured he would at least be in like, upper-mid-tier.

They put charizard in the last tier, it just makes no sense to me. They’re overthinking team roles vs whether a player is plainly good in battle or not.

I keep hearing Unite is pay to win and hard to progress later on if you don’t. How true is that? I just don’t want to invest time into a game only for me to realize that later on.

It’s not. There are definitely advantages to doing so if you put together a team and want to play in master ranked and play in major tournaments but otherwise you barely notice. You gradually get points to level up your items over time, does it take longer to max them all out? Yeah, definitely but it’s not at all necessary to play well. The only thing that will hold you back from winning is having a shitty team that’s playing for themselves lol

Casually, I don’t think it’s a big deal whether you pay or not. If you want to be like, a god at the game and go for high rankings, paying definitely helps. I don’t think it’s necessary still though. So in general, the game is fine without paying.

I’m one ranked game away from ultra or expert, I’m not sure.

Yeah, I don't think it's needed to pay to get ranked. Just helps. If I get serious in the game, I'll pay more just to support it, but I enjoy it casually right now and don't feel inclined to.

Yeah, you really don’t need to. The only time I even notice is when an opposing team is buffed to the gills and I can’t knock out an absol or a gardevoir with something equally as strong with a health advantage but that happens once every fifty battles or something.

I find it pretty obvious when you come across another player who has payed to upgrade their items. Sometimes you just get absolutely smashed by the same character as you at the same level.

I’m having fun with it though. Charizard is my main so far and it feels pretty strong.

I just think charizard is fine, it doesn’t belong in the bottom tier.

Wtff my right joycon won't register button presses wirelessly (at least half the time) and I have to hold the pairing button to even get it connected. Works totally fine in handheld mode.

Hope Nintendo will repair these for free, or is
    that only for drift?

That happens to me sometimes even when they’re connected, I’ll have to double click to turn it back on and it’ll be while I’m playing a game, which is really fun and cool.

Seems like next year is just sequels to all the games that came out in the launch year, I’d be cool with that

Weird question: I am painfully illiterate in turn based RPG’s outside of Pokémon (does that even count?), so are there any games you guys would recommend me check out on Switch in the genre? I’ve heard Xenoblade is good. Any others?

Final Fantasy VII, VIII, and IX are all remastered on the eShop. Those are great places to start, especially VII and IX.
