I don’t think Twilight Princess is a particularly good game

I think Zelda before BOTW was an overrated franchise.

    Nope. BOTW is overrated.

I actually agree with this to a certain extent. Also you'd think something being so universally praised it would've had more influence on games being made, but the only thing we got out of this is a shitty Ubisoft ripoff that past first glance barely bares a resemblance.

I do love it though, and on a good day it's my favorite game, but I at least think it's novelty and influence were both overstated.

and yeah, upon replay, while I do appreciate a certain amount of "white space", most of the game is simply empty and barren.

I think it was after Wind Waker, until BotW. Well, some of the handheld titles were great even then.

I don’t think BotW is overrated and I also think we’ll see its influence in subtle ways more in the future

I've said it before but I really loved BOTW but I also don't think it really felt like a Zelda game most of the time

Didn't give me that same feeling that games like OOT, MM, WW and TP (the ones I played most) did

  12. I feel like botw is more accessible than other Zelda games which is why I like it more than all the others I've played

BOTW is definitely the best, I mean c'mon

Yeah. I'll only hear cases for WW, the best by-the-numbers-type Zelda game.

OOT isn't the *best* Zelda (although it's up there), but I think it's definitely the most important one.

I haven't played all the way through MM, WW, or SkSw (yet!), so I'm really hoping we get those HD remasters eventually...

WW is great but I only downgrade it because I'm one of those people that never liked the overly cartoonish style. I also remember it being really easy, at least compared to the other 3D ones

Minish Cap, Twilight Princess, Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask are all fantastic games.

It's really hard for me to wrap my head around the prospect of anyone not liking Ocarina Of Time, unless they just don't like that entire genre to begin with, or unless they're really that diehard of a 2D fan. In which case it still baffles me, but less so.

There are only two Zelda games I would classify as "not fun" and those are the first two. I can't even call them "bad" games because at the time they were extremely impressive and represented some of the best the medium had to offer. Just because they don't hold up to more modern entries in the series doesn't mean they are retroactively "bad" games.

But everything after and including A Link to Past is all varying degrees of good-to-excellent.

OoT is a really good game. I probably prefer MM though. It has problems OoT does not have, but it has higher highs too.

I think WW is fantastic and is where traditional, pre-BotW 3D Zelda gameplay peaked.

TP is a tedious, ugly game that has nothing going for it except the stellar lore.

SkSw had great art and lore, but the linearity really wasn't for me and wasn't what the franchise needed. The motion controls were impressive however.

BotW is fantastic and exactly what the Zelda franchise needed after TP and SkSW. The numbers seemed to back exactly that up. It's also what open world games as a semi-genre needed (and still needs).

That's me on 3D Zelda. No shots.

I by the way think all 2D and/or top down Zelda games are at least good for what they are and quite a few are great.
