I'm someone who tries to have as few apps on his phone as possible, so I admit I might not be the audience for something like that. That said, is it really that big of a difference? An app vs. a website?

 

I genuinely do not like the mobile website for eShop, it’s clunky and does a poor job of telling me what’s on sale or suggesting games.

 

Fair enough. I only really buy exclusives on my Switch so I update my wishlist from time to time and that's about it, so it works for me. But I can understand someone wanting something a bit more robust.

Nah, it's painfully accurate. There are a lot of good parts about the game, but there are some things that make it feel so much less refined compared to the quality you'd expect from either the Persona or Fire Emblem series.

I don't remember if this specifically is true or not, hell, I've played the game back on Wii U, but the grind and the repetitiveness alone put me off, even though I really liked the vibe of the game.

will def check out that other game you posted tho, looks sick.

 

That other game, while in some ways cool, has literally every problem that Vase is saying TMS has lol

 

he achknwoledged that, but I guess his point is that they actually have an excuse (limited budget), wheres Tokyo Mirage really doesn't as they had way more money.

 

It’s not like you can’t tell. TMS feels way less budget than that game. Also, if you dig into the history of TMS you’ll learn that they too had their budget cut continuously and so on. That game was supposed to be be a lot deeper. It was supposed to have a fully fleshed out Persona/Fire Emblem-like dating/friendship sim part too, but they had to cut it.

But anyway, wether or not they had an “excuse” really doesn’t matter the moment you’re actually playing it and TMS simply has outstanding combat, some of the best turn based combat in years.

Matt's fucking screenshot is really making me want to play MHS2.

 

It's awesome man. I'm really having fun with it. The patch really made it run way smoother then before too.

This thread really should not sleep on that game. It's a really good, really pretty JRPG. One of the best JRPGs on Switch.

 

Also I don't know how Matt did it but he somehow made his character look older than they are supposed to be

 

yeah the performance in the demo really put me off. I am considering waiting for my Deck to play it, that's my only hesitation.

 

It's a lot better now. There's only one town that feels off still to me. Moving the camera around very fast isn't a great idea sometimes, but then again there really isn't a point to doing that in this game. But yeah maybe it's better on the Deck. Then again maybe the Deck is a piece of shit

 

Let me put it this way, as it is I don’t want to invest more into the switch ecosystem than necessary.

It's definitely a common problem. I really don't understand why that is though, because there are plenty of games that run well and look sharp that seem to require a lot more power than games that look and or run like shit. It's not even just lazy ports like Ys 9 (though I think that's more often than not the reason) - even people Monolith Soft can't (or care to) figure it out. XCX looked better on WiiU than 1DE and 2 look on Switch, even though the Switch is allegedly quite a bit more powerful.

I don’t think it would help the lazy port problem.

But also, I don’t think people shouldn’t want a Switch Pro, I think people shouldn’t be surprised it isn’t happening.

 

I doubt Monolith is being lazy, I think their scope has just outgrown the Switch.

 

I don’t mean them. I mean the actual lazy ports like Ys 9 etc. I have no idea what the problem with Monolith is. XC2 and 1DE really didn’t do anything that required them to be that bury, given how X looked.

 

Yeah, it’s annoying how slow the menu in unite is. I don’t even understand why. There’s a lot of slowness outside of the game itself and I just don’t get it. I wonder if that’s why it takes half the game for the cpu to realize someone quit and take over lol like how dumb is that?
