Yeah as someone who lost their super pc in the divorce (actually not salty about it at all haha) this kinda feels like a dream come true hahaha.

The design of that Valve thing is bad. It’s an interesting machine but good God.

 

MHS2 is fun as hell

 

I mean say what you want about the looks (I am indifferent about it), but it's really pushing the limits of what one can call portable. I was watching an IGN video last night and that thing is a bonafide chonker.

 

Yeah that's what I mean, it's pretty wild, but also ugly af I'm pretty sure it's not very comfortable either. But I am still interested.

Lol same, I’m still pretty early on so I was hoping it would just make more sense in time

 

As someone who has been building a PC (been trying to find a decent priced 3070/80 since January and then I’ll be done) I was interested about what Valve would release as a cheaper alternative. But I want a PC to play big triple AAA titles not available on Switch. After finding out the steam deck screen is only native 720p, it has good battery life when playing in 30 fps but if you play in 60 fps it drops the battery life in half, and that the base model only has 64 GB which means I’ll have to spend even more money to have the triple AAA games I want downloaded, I just can’t justify paying $400. If people want to play 2D PC games or emulated games (warranty void) on the go then yeah it makes sense, but I don’t want to play games such as Halo Infinite on a 720p screen just for portability. And yes I know you can hook it to a monitor for 1080 but if I’m just going to use a portable device as a plug in device then I’ll just finish building a tower.

As for the design, yeah, the thumb sticks and a,b,x,y buttons are way too high.

 

why do you think emulation would void the warranty? do you have a source for that because that would be a deal breaker for me.

I was able to get the Zelda Joy Cons from Nintendo’s website.

 

Those joycon looks only okay to me. For some reason they look like those cheap sticker/skins you used to get for controllers or something.

 

Valve haven’t stated anything about the warranty that’s why I put it in parenthesis so it may not make it void, but Valve won’t vocally support downloading 3rd party apps that allow you to illegally play games and if any app you download happens to mess with the Steam deck os then Valve may not allow you to use the warranty for an exchange.

 

Got Skyward Sword this morning. The controls will take some time to get used to but it’s fun.

 

Got the zelda joy cons at gamestop they had two pair left

 

I’m not a fan of how you can only really get like three different eggs per level on monster hunter and also how it’s only of the monsters from that level that you’ve already seen. There are 82 rideable monsters, are there that many levels or are there just a lot of common monsters no one cares about? Eh.

From a more positive standpoint, I do love that there are variations of monsters. It’s not rare or anything but I think that’s cool.

Also, noticed someone mention how they weren’t sure how to get monsties with good stats. When you pick eggs, they’ll have a glittery shine to them, which means they have likely have rare skills and good stats. Sometimes they’ll have good stats but sometimes only have one rare skill, they can only have up to three rare skills. To unlock those skills they have to be tic tac toe, which is pretty easy to figure out. It’s probably really hard to get perfect monsties so I wouldn’t worry about that much.

 

I wish there was an easy way to compare the stats of monster that have different levels. Like, I can’t tell if my new lv. 1 monster will be better than the lv. 20 monsters I have.
