if you buy it, preorder it from walmart. it comes with a keychain and a pair of socks. not that those are really great scores (the steelbook they are promoing in europe looks a lot cooler) but at least you get something with it compared to amazon - same price both places.

Went ahead and picked up Immortal Phoenix Verizon and you know what, it's actually pretty good! Yeah, it's a BOTW ripoff, but so far it's a good BOTW ripoff. Graphics look like poop on Switch, but I suppose it's amazing it runs it at all.

I mean a couple of caveats tho: that model has 64 gigs of storage, which in the Modern PC Space amounts to 2 games and like 4-5 indies in a best case scenario.

That said there's an SD card slot so you could technically move less demanding games onto there.

It’s actually more than $400.

It’s $400 for 64GB, $530 for 256 GB and $650 for 512 GB. Way too expensive for a handheld

The basic version is $400. And it’s $100 more than the base Switch. $200 more than the Switch lite. The $400 is messing features that the $530 and $650 have (SSD) so it’s not like you’re getting your full bang for your buck with the base model either.

You’ll also have to get a pretty big micro SD 100%. Downloading full titles like Jedi Fallen Order, for example, is 50GB. You won’t have any room with the base memory after 1 big game like that.

It’s a good device but it’s stupid expensive for a 7 inch 1080 screen.

edit: turns out the screen isn’t 1080, it’s 720p. Which makes the high price even weirder.

 

no, the more expensive ones have *faster* ssds (nvme vs emmc). and again, it's 3x as fast undocked as the switch docked, so that's why it's more expensive.

I doubt Valve is trying to out-sell the switch, this is a fairly niche device and it's a total steal imo

(not to mention you can install windows on it and use it as a literal desktop computer)
