Bought Tony Hawk for Switch today. Pretty solid so far. Reminds of the GameCube days.

So hades rules, blasphemous is fucking impossible, and the monster hunter stories demo is the most addicted I’ve been with a game in a while

I finished Mario Galaxy for the first time since it came out. One of my all-time favorites.

 

Does anyone know why the monster hunter stories game doesn’t fit on my screen? Some of the button controls ever off the screen and it’s kind of weird.

 

You need to turn off overscan on your TV, they all ship with it on. It’s usually under format or Zoom settings. It’s either called “overscan off” or “just scan”

Yeah, I tried that and there was no option for it.

 

Don’t worry you can turn it off on every tv. Just Google your make / model number + overscan

You should turn off overscan on your tv anyway, all your shit will be zoomed in including TV shows and movies lol

Yes because most games are made with overscan in mind (“safe area”), if you don’t do it you didn’t get through cert.

Hopefully the final version will have the border settings enabled.

 

Fun fact I watched the whole F1 race today on a tv that has overscan enabled and I am so fucking peeved you have no idea

 

I hope so but after complaining about actual problems with video games to developers, sometimes they just don’t give a shit until the complaints become overwhelming

 

I just honestly would like to know why overscan is still a thing in 2021. Even my LG CX shipped with it on wtf

There are a lot of really easy fixes that they just choose not to make, sometimes. They truly need a larry the cable guy in every game department to tell them the most obvious shit

 

I saw your subsequent posts too. A great thing about the Switch is that it lets you adjust the borders in the system menu, so you can adjust it there. Based on what you’re saying you’d probably just have to readjust it once you play another game.
