I have the official Nintendo case and it's a little confusing but also really good. It's a shame I fucked up the included screen protector.

I keep dying in Breath Of The Wild, I suck at the combat

Breath is great, and the only thing I've played. But I'm really impressed with the hardware. I had a DS and never just sat on the couch and played it, or in bed, I only ever used it when flying. But this thing, and maybe just because it's BotW, feels great, and I'm walking all over the house playing it. It's just the right size, not too big, but big enough to feel substantial.

I like the Switch too. I mainly played in handheld mode, partly because I'm scared to dock it but mainly because it just looks and feels great.

The UI is snappy and nice, but it'll have to change once more games become available. Same goes for the eShop.

Breath of the Wild on Wii U is everything I've wanted in a console Zelda game. My god it's so good.

So is there any indication of when the Nintendo Switch will be available again? I've been in the school zone and I need to play Breath of the Wild. I'm getting a Switch for that sole purpose.

I'm not an avid gamer (the last game I bought was the last Zelda game) so I'm very naive as to what stock is like when a gaming system launches. How long does it usually take to restock??

several stores got some yesterday, but we are talking like 3 units each (best buy target etc.) So it looks like you need to get lucky.

For me, certain Zelda games have always made me feel like this. OOT especially. The games are just so beautifully crafted. And they have that unique charm that only Zelda games possess. Even with all the modernization, it still carries through.

Yeah that's true, but I would argue they stopped being best in class after Wind Waker, until Breath Of The Wild.

TP, SS and ALBW are still some of my favorite games.

I did take into account the handheld games actualy, ALBW is definitly also a special post-WW Zelda and arguably the starting point of what lead to BOTW.

Yeah, agreed. OOT, Twilight Princess and now BOTW are the three that I was thinking of.

The only additional thing I wish BotW had would be any kind meaningful dodge mechanic. Honestly I'm surprised that Nintendo made the combat so punishing in it. And that challenge is a great thing! I love it. But you can't throw this many enemies at players, or make their attacks so deadly, or make them very fast-moving, and then only give players a little hop to the side as the sole dodge mechanic other than simple running away.

What's a guy gotta do to get a dodge roll around here?

There is also backflip, it's pretty good, but yes the combat definitly feels a little too harsh (or frantic) to me at times, and I played A LOT of Dark Souls.

The controllers charge when they are clicked in with it being docked right?

Selling my spare Switch for $380, debating whether to get Pro controller or 1-2 Switch with the profit.

Coming from the Souls games myself as well, the lack of a dodge roll just goes against every instinct I ever have when it comes to managing the flow of combat encounters.

Picked up two more Amiibo today. 8-Bit Link and Ocarina Link. I have the Guardian as well. Wanted to get those classic tunics.

I've definitely found that the key to surviving enemy encounters is to slow down. If it's a big camp of them? Slow down, plan your approach, find higher ground if possible, look for items to use status or magnetism on. If it's 2 or 3 enemy's? Slow down, learn their attack pattern, watch for them to telegraph their moves, don't let them surround you, dodge rush whenever you can.

I just came off of playing The Witcher 3 where I was level 53 or something, which is relatively high. I was maxed out on skills and magic and just destroyed everything. Breath of the Wild is kind of humbling in that no matter what awesome weapon you have, how far in you are, or how many hearts you have you will always have to be good at the game to succeed.

For crowd control I just slip bombs in between my melee/range attacks. Works really well.

Really looking forward to the hard mode.
