Anyone else think the criticisms of the joy-con dock set-up were way, way overblown? It's honestly way more comfortable of a controller than I was expecting, based on the pre-release talk. I honestly think I might not need a Pro controller anymore.

I played on my apartment buildings rooftop deck for a couple hours last night it was pretty great, volume on this thing is pretty good too. I felt like I was in the Switch commercial only lonelier haha.

 

I thought they must be overblown, but now I'm not sure I like them in the grip, haha. I like them otherwise though.

How does it compare weight wise and everything to holding a 3ds XL, for anybody that has both? Does Gamestop have a station set up to try it?

 

I think it's comfortable enough but a bigger, less cramped layout with bigger bumpers would be nice, I'll probably end up picking up a Pro eventually.

 

The joy con grip is fine but I think the pro controller is a definite step up. I'm glad I got one.

 

This game can be like fucking Dying Light at night

 

My bitching in this thread can end now, amazon finally shipped my console and it'll be here tomorrow.

 

I was a little put off when I got it home because I was going to have to buy another controller for anyone else to play Bomberman in local play until I realized each joy con functions as it's own controller. It's like any way that you use this thing is comfortable.

Edit: keep in mind I hardly watched any of the release videos and forgot I even preordered this thing before anyone criticizes me haha

 

It's heavier, but not terribly heavy in general. It feels really solid, like it's well-made and not flimsy or cheap-feeling at all.

 

Yeah idk, I think the joy-con grip feels totally fine, and I have big hands too so it doesn't feel cramped at all. I like it a lot more than I was expecting to.

 

Yeah i was expecting to hate the joycon grip but it has been great so far.

Has anyone had issues with joycons de-syncing? I haven't had a problem in the 12 hrs I've used them but one of my friends has de-synced several times

 

My update: Having a blast still. I'm having to pry myself away from Zelda every night. I also threw out a screen protector out of frustration. Downloaded Snipperclips but haven't played yet. Bought my first ever Amiibo (Guardian) and now I will for sure be suckered into buying more. That's about it from my end.

 

This is apparently a common problem with the left joy-con specifically

 

Just picked one up...this thing is pretty awesome. the new Zelda game looks beautiful on my 65in TV and on the mobile screen as well.

Fast RMX and Super Bomberman are fun online games as well. Pretty happy with this so far. Its July very solid and the streamlined OS is great.

 

I haven't at all. Apparently they fixed it in the Day 1 patch. I've also been playing exclusively with the joy-con grip, save for a bit of handheld play this morning, so I feel like I would have encountered it by now if it hadn't been fixed.

 

Zelda is fucking magnificent. Holy shit. I've probably played a good 6 hours so far and it's just incredible how big the world is. Like instantly glad Mario wasn't also a launch title.

 

Bought a switch from someone who got two pre-orders for 375. Since I was able to get Zelda for 20 bucks, I thought overall it was a good deal. Pumped to get started

 

You didn't accidentally buy just the DLC pack did you? That was available for 20 dollars at GameStop and looked like the actual game

 

No...I traded in my wii u and a bunch of games and the guy said I could get Zelda for 20 bucks so I jumped on that even though I didn't have the system. Not sure why but I won't complain!

 

Does anyone know if target actually has switches in stock? It is showing in stock at some nearby targets online but I can't imagine that is possible? Guess I should call...

 

I took the switch to my moms today. She played the original Zelda back when she was a teenager, so she kind of understood what was going on ("Is that Link? Where's Zelda at?") but she kept asking about when Mario was coming out. Then we played the snipperclips demo together. Which is when I had to reteach her how to press a button and move the analog stick at the same time.

 

I went to a Target today and they didn't have any. They had a bunch of joycon and pro controllers though
