Minish Cap rules. Really sucks the only legal way to play it is either to own it for GBA or to have it through the 3DS Ambassador Program.

I’ve never played any handheld Zelda games except for the remake of Link’s Awakening and some of phantom hourglass. Still, Zelda is my personal favorite game franchise. Link to the Past, Ocarina, Wind Waker, Twilight, Skyward and Breath of the Wild are some of the best games I’ve ever played. Can’t wait for skyward sword HD and whatever else comes out this year.

Oracle of Ages and Seasons were my first experience with Zelda. Probably my favourite because of the nostalgia.

First Zelda I played was Ocarina but I never beat it when I was younger. The first Zelda game I ever beat was Twilight Princess. Ocarina’s water dungeon made me so mad that I legit stopped playing it for 7 years. I bought it on the Wii virtual console in ‘07 and didn’t re-attempt the game until 2014.

About to finish Link's Awakening remake and it's still in my top 3 with OoT and BoTW. Everything about it is perfect, even how long the damn Eagle's Tower takes.

I have an appreciation for Zelda games, but they're way too difficult for me to beat before giving up. OoT and Twilight Princess are the only ones I own, and otherwise I've played Majora's Mask.

Mario 3D is much harder in multi player due to camera angles and so many courses that side scroll. It’s like a ongoing anxiety attack. Much more fun single player.

I love multiplayer but I can understand the camera annoyances for sure

There are a LOT of games for Advance, 3D, 3DS that are going to be lost to time unless they finally update the E Shop.

I was having a discussion about the price of ports with my buddy and he made a fairly good point. Why are video games the only form of media that are expected to drop in price over time? You wouldn’t expect albums or movies to do the same.

Not sure what you mean about movies? Walmart always has a bargain bin of DVDs, and I see deals on digital movies constantly in the Google Play Store. I suppose you have a point with albums, though?

I absolutely expect the price of movies and albums to drop in price over time lol

There are albums on sale all the time, actually. Nintendo just doesn’t get the same outrage other companies do, for some reason.

In the age of streaming, I can't remember the last time I've purchased an album lol so wasn't 100% sure there

Idk, the bargain bin is usually the same kind of shit i’d see in a video game bargain bin. Stuff that’s either bad or no one really cares about. You almost never see Disney stuff go on sale, at least their premium content. Nintendo treats their top IPs the same way. If something gets released on 4K blu ray, I fully expect it to be expensive. If The Beatles release a remastered version of an album or an anniversary of something, it’s also not dirt cheap even though the albums are decades old. I hope i’m explaining this well enough haha.

There is definitely a very different theory of value when it comes to video games. When a classic movie is remastered and released on Blu-Ray at full price no one questions it, but it is a huge deal for video games.

Yup. I think the biggest counter argument against Nintendo is more how every system is so vastly different than the previous that they always prevent backwards compatibility.

I get what you mean, and that's probably mostly true for Disney, but I think that's more of an exception and I'd still expect the majority of films to get cheaper over time. I feel the same about videogames, but I understand why Nintendo is able to get away with it. Their ownership of beloved characters like Mario makes them the "Disney" of videogames in a way heh.

I will say, right now I can buy Spider-Man Far From Home on Google Play for $15 when it was originally $20, so there are at least some newer, big budget films that go on sale, too.

For me though I think something going on sale isn’t the same at it being consistently sold at a cheaper price, because Nintendo games do go on sale. They just don’t do it on the regular. There is definitely something to be said though on the video game industry having set standards on pricing, where something like an album or film vary depending on where you are purchasing it.

Collecting CD's as a teenager the artists from the Sixties and Seventies regularly sold at the same price as anything new, but with video games you can see sales within a month or two, and the drop in price is much more drastic.

I also think there’s a huge difference in releasing Skyward Sword in HD for 60 dollars as opposed to Ocarina or Majora, which they would never do. Definitely an argument to be made how they handle Wind Waker and TP.

And I am VERY glad I qualified for the 3DS Ambassador Program haha. They even let me redownload them when I got a New 3DS XL!

I played 3D World through probably three times on the Wii U but I’ve missed it since I parted with the console a while ago and happily paid for it again. Of course it’d be great if the ports were cheaper and they objectively should be, but there aren’t many things that can capture the magic of a good Nintendo game and it’s almost always money well spent

If they are going to continue to re-release games with no discount, I’d love to see them try more things like Bowser’s Fury and bundling the ports with a new, smaller standalone experience
