I wouldn’t dare accuse you of that. Too many layers imo

Mario 3D World, Pokemon Snap, Mario Golf, and Skyward Sword isn't a bad first half lineup at all. If E3 comes (or an August/September direct) and they announce a ton of great stuff for fall, I'll retract my disappointment.

Being bummed mostly stems from thinking there's a decent chance Pokemon (and remake Pokemon at that) is the only big thing coming in the second half of the year. Today all but confirmed BOTW2 isn't until next year or the year after, no sign of Metroid (Prime 4 probably still a ways off but what about the prime ports or next 2D one?), no virtual console updates means only one of N64 or Gameboy this year at best, Skyward Sword by itself means Zelda anniversary probably expensive and incomplete...idk. Not a disaster but reason to think 2021 won't be great.

I am in the Skyward Sword sucks camp, but more objectively, it is pretty linear, with less focus on exploration than the average zelda. This applies to dungeons and overworld areas alike. Exploration is something I really value, so I didnt enjoy it much.

Skyward Sword was a game I was hyped about during the Wii era, and put down after only like 5-10 hours. Very disappointed at the time. I will most likely pay for it again and give it another go and hope for the best.

I already have more games to look forward to this year than in all of 2020 so I’m satisfied.

Skyward Sword is the best Zelda.

For now, until the next console they put out is ignored by the masses and then the console after that gets to port all the games everyone missed out on!

I have a Wii U for Wind Waker, but would still love a port to the Switch. There are many games I need to play currently so I’ll be busy with those. The games that were announced aren’t the only games they’re going to release this year. I see other titles that are more exciting being saved for E3, mini directs, franchise specific directs, etc...

I agree with this. At the end of last year it seemed 2021 was going to be great but I suspect ongoing WFH issues have pushed a lot of stuff like BOTW2 into 2022 now, either that or Nintendo is just being super-conservative about what they announce due to the general uncertainty around everything. 2021 is starting to look a bit barren for new games across all platforms, its a real bummer.

Lol I see your sly Phil Jackson reference, nice

This is me. That game looks made for me. Octopath is the reason I bought the Switch. A very flawed game, but one of my all time favs. There's a thread somewhere.

This is one of my actual honest opinions: I don't hate Wind Waker, I just don't understand what the big deal is after playing it.

It's just a pretty perfect video game that's all.

I'm very happy about Mario Golf coming back. It's been way too long.

Another Splatoon for Switch is great news too. It's an amazing series. Why anyone would want it to be anything but a competitive shooter is beyond me. That's the whole pont of the series. The campaigns are just little bonuses.

The HD version definitely is about as close as one can get.

I can't imagine 3rd party controllers being anything close to the quality of the pro controller.

I have to say fuck Nintendo for making me think that XC2 DLC was going to be in my future. Turns out it's just fucking Smash :verysad:

I mean I think every 3D Zelda is among the best games ever made and Wind Waker is in the top three of those. It would definitely make my top 10 of all time.

Pretty excited to play SS again. I think it's a more enjoyable game than TP. Hopefully you can play button controls while docked
