Wasn’t it a split release? Regardless, it had to have been at the end of the wii lifecycle right?

I guess what i should say is the audience unquestionably wants these rereleases and will pay good money for then

 

I think it’s cool that SS is getting the HD treatment, I never got to play it and maybe with the new controls, it’ll be a better experience idk

 

Nope it wasn't split. And the Wii U didn't come out until a year later.

 

Nintendo is really stretching the definition of the term "HD" with that port job. It barely looks any better than the OG version did.

Initial thoughts:

Thought the Splatoon 3 announcement was going to reveal that they were going the full action/rpg direction and would be the Cyberpunk 2077 killer. Will be excited if it’s the same usual formula, but was really liking the possibility of it being a borderlandsesque release.

Love the look of the new Triangle Strategy Phil Jackson game from Square.

Mario Golf is going to dominate my free time for a good while, especially with that speed mode.

When they made a Zelda announcement, the ocean noise got me hyped only to be let down when Zelda’s terrible nose shattered all my hopes of a WW release.

I will soon pour hours into Animal Crossing again.

Lukewarm to cool feelings about everything else.

Should I get Octopath Traveler? That untitled game was the one thing I was SUPER excited about from this Direct.

 

As someone who was not all that enticed by Octopath and has yet to play it, I’m right there with you in terms of excitement for the triangle strategy game

but also never got to play skyward sword, so that was cool. Mario Golf, Splatoon 3, and the Octopath follow up look nice

 

I'll be positive for a moment:

The idea of having a new Mario Golf game where you can create your own character and level up with skills is pretty rad. Let's just hope it's good!

Hmmm. I legitimately forgot about the rest of the direct, but two things isn't bad!

 

Please please please let the story mode in mario golf be good. It looked promising with the leveling up and stats!!

And that skyward sword looked plenty HD to me. I tried to replay that game on Wii U a few months ago and stopped an hour in because the 480p was literally hurting my eyes. As long as they upscale that game to 1080 and I can play it with a pro controller they’ve done their job.

 

I'm in the minority, but I like Skyward Sword. I think it just wasn't released at the right time. People were ready for something new and the motion controls didn't help any.

 

As a casual gamer, a summer with New Pokémon Snap, Mario Golf, and Skyward Sword HD is plenty.

Nintendo: ok, here's this, this and this
People: no... not those surprises

 

IMO skyward sword is the 2nd best mainline Zelda behind BOTW.

 

Or it’s just people not being interested in what was shown off. I for one couldn’t care less about Mario sports games. I already played Skyward Sword on Wii. I have never touched Splatoon. For someone like me there wasn’t anything really here at all that isn’t coming out for several months.
