All the time lurking in this thread and getting my hype level built up, I kept telling myself, "I can wait." Then, I found myself freezing my ass off at Target this morning hoping to get my hands on a Switch and BotW. With the exception of breaks to eat and use the restroom, I've found myself entranced by Zelda. Feels like I'm 11 all over again. I guess sometimes you just need to be impulsive and treat yo self.

 

Last night couldn't have gone more smoothly. I showed up at GameStop like 20 minutes before midnight, paid off the rest and then I was given a sticker that let me cut the insanely huge line

 

Oh shit, I forgot I even had this thing preordered then got an email from Target saying it arrived at my house...sweet. I guess I need to go pick up a game tonight then.

 

damn i tried out handheld mode for a minute and BotW looks great in that too. That's not exactly how i want to experience the whole game but it will be nice when my daughter is hogging the tv to play minecraft.

My 6 year old sister has been telling me where to go and helping me solve puzzles. We've already found some amazing things just in the plateau.

 

My one issue with it so far is the voice acting is just as lame as I thought it was going to be. Really wish they had made it possible to use the Japanese voices. I feel like its going to bother me even more in the more climactic moments of the game.

 

Anyone else have trouble downloading the Day One patch? I keep getting an error code.

 

i got a couple of server errors while trying to download snipperclips. i bet they're getting hammered now that everyone is getting home and setting them up.

 

Also not really sure why they're now calling him Calamity Ganon. It's just weird.

Just got home to both the game and console.

Can't believe the size of the special edition BOTW. Wow.

 

I can't stop playing. My first day with Switch has been my best experience in a handheld/console. UI and UX is so fluid. So happy with the purchase.

Hold on there, man. Just a little more. At the very least you already know It's going to be so worth it.

A lot of people in my Facebook fumbled for a copy when I posted the unit on my timeline. I think it's almost sold out here. And new units will be coming next week.

 

I just picked up Wind Waker HD today on the cheap to get through the wait to be able to afford Switch/BoTW. I've never beat this one, having a blast but still got the itch :(

 

Yeah, Amazon. Just having it ship and have a date is a relief because it was a frustrating day. I'm actually not as furious as I was earlier in the day, gives me more Horizon time, it's just disappointing because I was really excited to get this thing on launch day :(

 

I'm impressed with the console so far.

Did anyone else feel strange replacing the Wii U with it? It's almost like the Wii U doesn't feel that dated compared to other console upstages.

Excited to start the game.
