Microsoft owns it now

 

This post made me miss Jet Lag Gemini and now I’ll spend today listening to them.

 

I would be pretty surprised if Microsoft didn't allow their Rare titles on a Switch Virtual Console.

 

They already allow the Donkey Kong Country games so it wouldn't make sense for them not to. It's just leaving money on the table.

 

Actually Nintendo holds the rights to the Donkey Kong Country games. They are able to release them without Rare/Microsoft's involvement. The titles that Microsoft has some say on are things like Banjo Kazooie, the original Diddy Kong Racing (Banjo + Conker Characters), Conker, Jet Force Gemini, Perfect Dark etc.

I also fully expect the next version of NSO to include more retro games for purchase. I don't see Nintendo giving away N64 or Gamecube games away for free.

 

Gimme Beetle Adventure Racing and 007 Goldeneye, please

 

Thanks for the clarification on DKC, but I don't know why they wouldn't just up the online subscription price to put up N64 games or just sell them individually.

 

And yet, Microsoft and Nintendo have been working together for a few years now and no Rare games have appeared lol.

 

Microsoft should just put Rare Replay on Switch, tbh. 90% of the games on it were originally on Nintendo consoles anyway.

 

I know. This is why I hate game companies and such. All games originally released on a different console/by another company should be grandfathered in and allowed to be rereleased on there. It's so stupid. I know why they don't do it, but even from a business perspective it doesn't make a lot of sense because it's just more money they could be making. Especially when it comes to N64 games.

 

I loved Virtual Console. There's so many damn games on my 3DS haha

 

The Wii U had the most insane VC.

 

I’m also thinking some sort of Fortnite collab with maybe Samus for the hunters season

 

They are absolutely going to announce another Mario and Rabbids crossover game.

 

I’d imagine if this was happening they probably save the announcement for Pokémon Day on the 27th but I’d love to be wrong lol

 

They need to finally port Xenoblade Chronicles X. It is the only announcement I want.

 

Mario Kart 9 is trending on Twitter.

 

Ironically MK9 would be one of the few potential announcements tomorrow I wouldn’t be hyped for. Every MK game is the same - a handful of new tracks big whoop, just make it DLC instead. At any rate that would surely be a holiday 2021 game at the earliest.

 

I would drop everything to play Quest 64 for the fifth time

 

New FZero surprise drop. No plans for Zelda anniversary. Year of Toadette announcement.

 

Rare Replay is actually a pretty weird game from a technological stand point. A lot of the games on it are just the Xbox 360 versions and are using the Xbox One's backwards compatibility to run on the Xbox. I don't think it would be hard to get their N64 games to run on switch, but getting all of Rare Replay would actually be somewhat of a challenge.

Even though there's not likely to be anything super exciting announced, I'm still stoked. Just nice to have a Direct again.
