Finally beat Sunshine (110 shines, skipped a bunch of blue coins and the balloon and Lilly pad levels)

now I get to play hades. Three runs in and already digging it! Already made it past the first boss once!

 

Only thing I needed more of in BOTW, was story. Other than that it was absolutely amazing. I put so much time into it. Only thing I didn’t fully complete was collecting all the Karok seeds or whatever they’re called.

I always thought the world of Breath of the Wild was incredible, they just didn’t fill it with enough stuff. I would have enjoyed more settlements, towns, random character interactions. Dungeons would have been sweet too (I do enjoy the Divine Beasts)

Can't decide if I want Fenyx on Switch or PC. It will look better on PC, but the portability would be nice.

 

Anyone playing the Hyrule Warriors: AOC demo?

There's definitely a lot going on in this demo. Already more story than the entire BOTW game. lol

 

I'll check out the demo but I'll be surprised if the gameplay does enough for me.

 

I didn't. I just simply said that I thought those games were worse than BOTW. It's not a definitive thing or a fact.

Finally beat Hades with pretty much everything from Dionysus and Ares, with the spear.

 

A Link Between Worlds is a top 5 Zelda game for me.

 

It's just so easy and boring. Otherwise it's fine.

 

No More Heroes 1 & 2 AND Control AND Part Time UFO surprise dropping today is nuts.

 

They definitely solved their problem of not having enough games this quarter with these games, Pikmin 3 and Hyrule Warriors Age Of Calamity.

 

I played some of the demo for Age of Calamity. It's good but I can tell it's not something I'd want to sink hours into or purchase for $60. I'll rent it when it comes out to finish the story and to see the cutscenes.

Is Control really as good as it's made out to be? I watched some gameplay, and it seemed...fine, but nothing spectacular.

 

So I just beat it on PS4. I'd have to fully collect my thoughts, but my initial review is that it's got great characters and voice acting, but the gameplay and story leave a lot to be desired. It doesn't do a great job of explaining some things or making things feel like they are scaling properly. I understand wanting to make a game challenging, but it's not challenging in a way like Dark Souls or Hollow Knight or Bloodborne, this game just feels like it can be random and unfair at points.

The Alan Wake dlc is really cool because it gives you a lot of insight into that universe and some hints at the future.

I think conceptually it's very very cool, but all the environments are so similar and the enemies are quite bland.

There's a lot going for it, but I remember a lot of people saying last year that it won game of the year simply because there wasn't anything outstanding that came out last year.

 

I tested Control on Switch. It runs perfectly in performance mode if you have a stable wireless connection. I'm playing in my basement and my router is upstairs and it's smooth as butter.

I would recommend. It comes with all the content. You can try a demo of it to test your connection before buying it.
