Wish they’d sell the special edition colors but it’s obvious why they won’t

 

Pokémon Sword and Shield on Amazon for 39.99 each.. kinda wanna get Sword. Anybody have any positive or negative thoughts on that haha

 

I recently jumped on that lower pricepoint @ BestBuy and I've been thoroughly enjoying myself w it thus far

Haven't played a pokemon game since Black on the DS tho

 

If you like the main Pokemon games you'll like it. It's pretty much the same format (go through towns, beat the gym at each town, take route to next town while fighting random encounters and wild Pokemon, etc.) as all of the other ones but with 3D visuals. I really really enjoyed it

 

It's more shallow than most previous Pokemon games though, in my opinion.

 

Its a lot of fun if you don't mind a fairly high level of hand-holding. The wild area is a nice addition and its got all the charm of any other pokemon game.

 

Thanks. Haven’t played a Pokémon since the 3DS. Which ever came out on that. I might have to pick it up for after Hades. The dlc is getting rave reviews.

 

The only thing that really sucks is everyone who played the new game got bored of it quick so now that they have all these improved features, there’s like no one to do multiplayer with lol

 

That’s wild because Pokemon games were always active until they were replaced

 

You can do multiplayer with randos for sure, it’s much improved but they occasionally do dumb stuff that can be aggravating and it’s just not as fun

 

never got too far into Sword and the DLCs look rad, so I've been meaning to get back into it

 

I get that Sword and Shield is kind of like choosing Red or Blue like in the old days. Back then, I chose Blue so I could start with Squirrel. I know nothing about Sword and Shield, so which should I choose?

 

I went w Shield cuz its exclusive gym leader was a goth kid with a mask

 

The starter Pokémon aren’t version exclusive, shield has better exclusive Pokémon tho imo

The gyms are slightly different, depending on which version you choose. Shield has ghost and ice and sword has fighting and rock.

 

Sword cuz the legendary is a wolf holding a sword in its mouth, easy choice.

 

That’s why I picked that one haha.

 

Same, but now after reading the other comments in here, I feel like I'd like Shield's exclusives more. Oops lol

 

same, especially for Galarian Ponyta/Rapidash

 

Shield was boring had to put it down after like 5 hrs

 

Damn, I can't make a choice, haha. Guess I should take a look at the Pokemon lists.

 

God I can't fucking wait for Pikmin 3 to come out Friday.

 

Came down to the dex and the gym differences for me. I went for shield, though I did really want that sword dog.

 

Sword/Shield was really fun when it first came out and a bunch of us would be playing online and catching those giant pokemon together.


First Pokemon game I finished in a long long time.

 

Pretty excited to experience my first 3D Pokémon game.

I’ll never forget getting Pokémon Yellow for Christmas all those years ago.
