Always forgetting how convenient the portability of the Switch is since I mainly play docked.

So great to be able to quickly grab my console and pro controller for tabletop play while I do laundry at my mom's lol

Damn, I really don't like Sunshine. Mario just feels weird.

I'm not sure I like it either. Still deciding if I want to continue on and beat it before I try Galaxy.

I hear nothing but amazing things about Galaxy so I think I'm just going to switch to that.

Yeah, I'll probably return to Sunshine at some point but the controls were just too annoying. Galaxy has been soo much fun and after collecting 45 stars, I can definitely say it's my favorite behind Odyssey. I hear Galaxy 2 is even better. Hopefully they port that eventually

Man, I love Sunshine and am still loving it after all these years lol. Maybe it’s just because it’s the one I played the most as a kid, but I’m not finding it difficult or the controls particularly annoying. If anything, the hover nozzle makes it so you have to be much less precise with your platforming and it feels way easier to me than 64.

Haven’t dived into Galaxy yet but I know I’ll love replaying that one too. This whole collection is just such a joy.

Once I'm done with this collection, I feel like I'm going to cave and get a used copy of Galaxy 2 for my Wii, only to find the Switch version revealed shortly after lol

Galaxy is a great game but its linear nature takes points away for me. I dont like Galaxy 2 and dont understand why everyone praises it.

oh god we're ranking the 3d mario games now lol :-p

finally playing Hades and this is really fun. I like it a bit more than Bastion so far (i've only played that game a little bit as well, on breaks during work)
i also got Transistor a while back, along with Bastion, but I haven't played it yet

Disgaea 5 is half off and has a free trial now.
This is addicting. Very anime-ish and over the top, but the customization and leveling up is ridiculous. I can see why people spend hundred of hours on this and 4.

Galaxy is hands down the best and most enjoyable 3D Mario game

I think Odyssey is probably the best at this point and 64 the most important one

Another vote for Odyssey being the best of the bunch, but both Galaxy games come close to the top

Agree hard. Also think Odyssey and Sunshine are the only ones that can be considered masterpieces.

I'd say Odyssey and 3D World are easily the best 3D Mario games. Galaxy 1 and 2 are amazing too. SM64 and Sunshine are okay but feel like unfinished ideas, and while the controls are good the level design hasn't aged that well (and I never thought was very good.) 64 is still the only one I've never done everything in/gotten 120 Stars.

3D Land was an impressive game but felt like a test run for 3D World, which again was a work of art.

I would agree that Sunshine was (even) more amazing at the time. Nobody even came close to making an as good and ambitious 3D platformer at the time. In fact, nobody except Nintendo themselves ever did.

I think 64 and Sunshine are way better than you give them credit for, especially 64, because when it came out none of the things that haven’t aged well were a problem yet so it really was incredible at the time. Also I like 3D Land more than World, I think, though to me they’re not really the same type of game.
