Good to know. I’ve been using loose cons all night and thought it worked well but wasn’t quite perfect

 

Wow I must've gotten lucky, I beat the penguin race first try! The first Bowser level is driving me crazy though, the camera is definitely a lot worse than I remember.

Bounced over to Sunshine to play around a bit and wow, the the graphics and gameplay are really strong coming from Mario 64. I think I might focus more on this one. I miss the analog triggers, but their solution isn't awful. Just going to take some getting used to.

I need my GameCube controller

 

It's killing me that FLUDD's spray controls aren't inverted >_>

 

This Mario stuff is a lot of fun. I only ever played Mario Nintendo 64 of these games and I started with that one, but I'm more excited about the other ones. I haven't played much Mario Nintendo 64 though, so it's still all pretty new to me. It's hard though! I have to cheat and look at the guides a lot and I'm really early on in it (but to be fair, I really only play sports games outside of Nintendo Switch so I'm usually a bit guilty about looking at guides).

Was in an RPG mood last night so I booted up the demo for Dragon Quest XI. I'm completely charmed by it already, I'm going to have to grab it at some point after my demo runs out.

 

Phil its my favorite JRPG in a long long time.

 

I'll admit my frame of reference is limited, but FFIX is the first jrpg I ever played and I've been chasing that high ever since. This is giving me that same feeling.

 

This game can absolutely give you that feeling, it's a bit of a slower burn in the beginning but it is SO worth it.

 

I'm bad at hades. And all rogues. Not my style I guess.

 

Did you get the second dash yet? When I got that I started doing a ton better, I spam it a lot. Also how long have you been playing? Rogues can take a little while to get the hang of.

I mean you can use the gamecube controller but it just won't function as the gamecube controls.

I guess I'll take accidentally sending Mario All-Stars to my parents house in exchange for the $10 refund I'm getting from Amazon's pre-order pricing guarantee. I just got the email this morning so everyone else who ordered from Amazon will likely get it as well.

 

I've only played it like 30 mins so far but I die so easily lol. But the whole style of not being able to save progress is tough for me. Tried to play dead cells but starting over everytime I die is annoying

 

Yeah rogues may not be for you, but you're really supposed to get your ass kicked early on. It's extremely rewarding to unlock new stuff and start kicking ass, like I said I'd shoot for unlocking the second dash ASAP. It took me a while to get hooked on the first rogue I played which was Enter the Gungeon, it was so fucking hard but people kept telling me to stick with it and after several hours I understood the appeal.

I think if you stick with it you will get hooked!

 

This GCN emulator they cobbled together is, uh, not good, or the Switch can’t handle it. That or it is not good for Sunshine (haven’t tried Galaxy yet).

 

This seems like something they could so easily fix, and it's baffling that they chose not to. At least give us the option.

I would believe that it will be my credit card because it says I'll get another email when it's been processed. I checked and there is no credit on my amazon account at the moment.

 

As someone who took way too long to play this game, I say get it ASAP. Spent 70 hours on it easily.

 

Anyone who has played Sunshine - do you know how to crouch and do backflips? None of the controls seem to do it
