The only main Mario game I have played that I didn't like was super Mario 2

I have never left my house without singing “Phone, Wallet, Keys” to the tune of the Mario 2 jingle.

 

So close

 

Stoked for the mario stuff coming to switch, not stoked about $60 for them but whatever.

 

It would be nice if they were actually remastered for that price.

Just lazy ports of a 24 year old game, an 18 year old game and a 13 year game seems real greedy for that price.

I am assuming you'll be able to buy them separately in the future, but still.

 

Ugh I'm having flashbacks to the Wii preorder delays lol. I was supposed to get mine before Xmas and FYE literally didn't receive ANY until after New Years

 

Went out and bought Luigi’s Mansion 3 and that Spongebob remake today

 

Luigi's Mansion is definitely a top 5 switch game, IMO.

 

I never finished it. The multiplayer was the only thing I really enjoyed from it.

 

Can’t wait to play it. Gonna start on it as soon as I finish with Golf Story

 

I just pre ordered Mario 3D All-Stars for like 50€

 

World has always been my favorite 2D Mario game, one of the probably like top 5 games of my childhood


3D is probably Sunshine honestly, I was a bit too young for the prime of 64 even though I've played it a bunch and love that one too

 

Sunshine is maybe my favorite game of all time (it more or less shares that spot with a few others). I have defended it for most of my life. Having played it fairly recently however, I can see why the general consensus is that it isn’t as good as the other 3D Mario games. It has certainly more parts in it that feel rushed, and it has a lot of frustrating difficulty spikes that are more often due to design flaws than one would expect from a Mario game. That is not all that surprising, as it is a pretty much established fact that it was indeed a little rushed. I don’t care about all that though. The atmosphere is so, so good. No game made me feel better, until that magical moment in Odyssey.

 

I bought the 3d collection on Amazon. Surprised it comes out so soon. The only thing really missing from Switch in my opinion is some kind of Mario Golf remake.

 

Don't even get me started. I can't believe we got two fucking Mario Tennis game since the last Mario Golf game.

A valid concern has been made regarding Sunshine on the Switch. There are no analog triggers on Switch controllers. With the gamecube, you could basically pull the trigger halfway and walk and shoot a light stream of water at the same time. You won't be able to do that with the Switch triggers.

 

I mean, they obviously figured out a way to do that differently, otherwise it wouldn’t come out lol

 

Yeah the trigger analogs will be interesting.

 

But yeah Nintendo needs analog triggers in general, just like Sony need staggered sticks already

 

Yeah, but it felt sooo good with those spongy Gamecube analog triggers. Gonna miss that.

 

Yeah it probably won’t feel as good

 

Playing it with a 360 controller on Dolphin works perfectly btw
