I'm also planning to get extra joycons just so I could do a blue-blue/red-red combo if I wanted to haha.

Wasting so much money that could easily go to a pro controller haha

 

Last weekend I did a 100% playthrough of Banjo-Kazooie on Xbox One, just to get some of those Nintendo nostalgia juices flowing. That game, especially the cleaned-up, enhanced Xbox 360 port, still holds up and is one of the greatest platformers of all time and a Top-5 N64 game, easily.

I'm currently working through Banjo-Tooie, which I never played on N64, so I'll be playing that all week as I wait for the Switch launch.

 

I sort of want a colorful set of joy cons to brighten up my grey system but I'm going to hold out in hope we some new colors like a green/orange pair for Splatoon 2.

 

No way we're not getting one. Did they release custom Pro controllers before? I'm thinking how possible it would be that they bundle Splatoon 2 with one, especially since they're considering pushing it to eSport status.

 

I preordered from GameStop so I'll get mine at the midnight release

 

AFAIK they only had the basic black pro controller. They're already starting to do some game + controller bundles with that Snipperclips bundle, I could maybe see a pro controller + Splatoon even though a ~$130 bundle might be a tough sell (hell, the pro controller is already a tough sell).

got Horizon preloaded and ready to distract me for the next 4 days. I hate that it had to be released the same week as Zelda because I was really looking forward to it.

At least you guys get Horizon tomorrow, I have to wait until Wednesday which means I only get two days to play it and I have nothing to do tomorrow.

 

anyone pick up a case yet? thinking about getting this one from Amazon, I like how compact this on seems to be.

I won't be getting to Horizon for a while, which is a bummer. I'm playing through Phoenix Wright: Spirit of Justice right now while waiting for the Switch.

 

I'm still really on the fence about Horizon. It really just looks like another Assassin's Creed/Far Cry/Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor clone dressed up with eye-meltingly beautiful visuals and a sci-fantasy aesthetic. I might wait for a price drop on it but won't get it this week, especially with Zelda coming out (and Mass Effect out at the end of the month, by which time I might not even be done with Zelda).

Also, I'm just really trying to stick to my "Only buying the Switch, Zelda, Mass Effect, and maybe Prey until the fall" decision.

 

I'm all for a Far Cry but starring a lady with a bow fighting robot dinos.

I'm still going to pass until...I dunno, after Persona 5.

Maybe. Probably. STAY STRONG TUCAH.

 

I just really like the world they've built for Horizon, much more than AC/FC/SOM. I'm quite interested in the story as well in terms of what happened and why the robots exist. The reviews seem to think it's got enough payoff so I'm excited. I just hope I find the gameplay fun.

 

And I neeeed something to do this week to stop me looking at Zelda previews. I'm still torn on reviews. If anyone does end up watching loads of Zelda reviews, I'd appreciate it if you could post in here if any are particularly spoilery so i don't accidentally watch them, lol.

gray but supposedly best buy has a lot of walk in units available and I'm really not sure if I won't switch on the spot on Thursday night if given the opportunity

Gray, didn't like the neon when I preordered (and it was all that Amazon had at first anyway) but it's really growing on me, wouldn't have minded that one.

 

Does anyone have the Switch yet? I want to play Zelda so bad but can't justify buying it just yet.
