Zelda not automatically pausing when the controller desyncs is weird, unless there's no real pause like a Souls game?

I've been reading and watching impressions videos all morning, and I haven't heard anyone else mention the syncing issue. Fingers crossed it's not a widespread problem.

Hopefully just a few isolated incidents with the joy-con stuff, because I've also been seeing tweets like this:

Not really bummed about VC not being at launch. I'm bummed that they won't say when it will be released or confirm that gamecube games will be VC

My concern is that the Joycon issue isn't one that can be "patched". Sounds more like a hardware issue, it would suck to have to get a replacement left one.

Hopefully they do controller updates similar to xbox. Plug controller into console and you can update from settings menu.

Yeah but there's no way they wouldn't provide new ones/do a recall. They would have to. That's like a damning, glaring failure of a fundamental part of the hardware package. It would suck to have to wait but there's no way they'd make us pay...

    ...Right?

If worst comes to worst Nintendo will replace the left joy-con. They wouldn't make people buy another one because the one sent out with the console was malfunctioning

If this is actually a widespread problem, and also not something that can be patched (for example with the day one patch), then it is a manufacturing issue and they will recall them. Of course, if you get a broken one, it'll be under warranty anyway.

I can't imagine the chaos that would ensue if their response was "oops, here buy a new thing to break your broken thing that just came out of a damn box"

No, I know, I was being facetious more than anything else at the end there. But I also can't imagine that they'll turn away anyone who rushes out to buy a Pro controller while they wait for their replacement Left joy-con, either.

I'm definitely in the go buy pro controller if my joycons are messing up camp. I don't really want to pay $75 for one right now but I want my Zelda experience to be good.

Has anyone tried removing the left joy-con, blowing on it, and then putting it back? Nintendo has a history...

Yeah I'm conflicted. I'm also still bitter about the Pro controller costing more than Xbox and PS4 controllers.

yeah. the pro controller did not need an NFC reader since the joycons have them. They could have cut costs there and got closer to competitors.

It's cool that they have gyroscope and hd rumble tho

I kinda hope the Switch does have some major issues. So I won't be as jealous playing BOTW on WiiU. ;)
