Majora's Mask is an anomaly for so many reasons. By all accounts, it was a rush job, essentially nothing more than an Ocarina of Time asset flip to cash in on that game's phenomenon status and released a little less than two years after that game launched. It had no right to be anything but mediocre. But something amazing happened instead. The game turned into not only the weirdest, most soulful, and also most unsettling game in the Zelda franchise, but it also became one of the most interesting games ever made in the process. It isn't just the atmosphere, the dread hanging over everything as the Moon slowly crashes to Termina or the clock at the bottom of the screen continually ticks away; it's the writing, the side quests, the change-up of the longstanding Zelda game flow, the willingness to go to places where not even the relatively mature Ocarina of Time was willing to go. Where other developers/publishers would have released a shameless cash-in and called it a day, Nintendo took that rushed timeline and made it a part of the game itself. Majora's Mask may not be my favorite Zelda, and it may not be the objectively best Zelda, but it is probably the most unique game in the series from my perspective.

I wouldn't be surprised that is the case because VC won't be a thing in its current form anymore. It was cool on the Wii, when third party developers were still in board more, before they realized the could sell their old games direclty instead of through Nintendo, but it wasn't that great on WiiU if you're being honest about it (especially the emulation wasn't great). I think the fact that they are planning to add online multiplayer and so on to NES and SNES games as incentives for their paid online service is a sign that they are going to change the way in which they bring back their classic library. Don't forget, once the free month is over tou can buy them, so classic Nintendo games are already confirmed. Maybe it'll still be called VC, but I doubt it'll be like the VC we know.

Shovel Knight!!! Probably wouldn't be able to play Spectre of Torment on March 3(plus already have it on 3DS) but I'm down for another excuse to support Yacht Club Games.

    I love them!

I really hope you enjoy it. One of the most enjoyable platformers I've ever played. Everything about it is so charming, and after finishing the game I really felt like it was worth every penny. And I loved the expansion just as much as the main game. Plague Knight is so adorable. I bought the Shovel Knight Amiibo on day one even though I used it only once lol.

The left joycon issues are troubling. If its not something that can be fixed in day one patch I'm definitely getting a pro controller.

Oh man, yeah. Hopefully it gets resolved on day 1. I wonder what's causing the issue.

That worries me. Hopefully it's an easy fix.

48 hours with the Nintendo Switch

"I can't say much about Breath of the Wild yet, but I can confirm that it is very much a Zelda game, albeit one that doesn't look like anything you've seen before. Notably, it also performed a lot better than it did at preview events, where I noticed stuttering and occasional slowdown while it was connected to the dock. I wasn't expecting much from the Switch's graphical capabilities, but there are plenty of moments where Breath of the Wild is just strikingly beautiful."

No mention of the left joycon issue, so I'm hoping it's solvable at least?

Breath of the Wild's art style is going to age very well, so it's going to look good now and in the future as well. Nintendo figured out a long time ago that trying to go hyper-realistic isn't always the best strategy (see: The Wind Waker, which still looks great even on GameCube).

Also, yeah, very concerned about that left joy-con issue now.

I'm so concerned about this hardware problem that I'm not even thinking about the VC. Like, the VC is going to be there eventually. The console's purchase price shouldn't jump to $370 off the bat just because a pro controller is a 100% necessity.

What's the problem with the joycon?

Polygon reported that they had the left joycon occasionally desync from the console at random while they were in the grip, and said they had talked to other outlets who had the same issue.

Most important, they reported that the issue caused them to die while playing Zelda. Which is unforgivable.
