I wonder when we'll get the next FE considering 3DS got 3

 

theres a fire emblem festival in may and rumor has it theyll announce a new game there, and some of the evidence points towards radiant games remakes

 

wouldnt be surprised if we get announcements for ports of the older persona games coupled with more smt v info

 

I finally got the cartridge for Golden Sun 2 last night for a decent price. I've finished the original one twice, but never this one. It will be a nice side project.

 

it's an improvement on the first in every conceivable way imo

 

There's no way they'll announce a new (main entry) Fire Emblem right now. They'd want to push Three Houses for the holidays especially since they JUST released DLC for it. It just wouldn't make sense.

 

I would be incredibly surprised. Sony would throw a fit.

 

I’m surprised Nintendo hasn’t announced a summer title yet. They had Mario Maker 2 last year and that was announced early on.

and they have 0 right to. at a certain point they have to let those games go, the most recent one first came out 2 generations (almost 3) of consoles ago. its like them throwing a fit about square putting ffx or ff xii on a nintendo console. theyre popular older games from a studio that frequently does business with other companies, they dont get to claim ownership for this long.

 

Unless they do, I have no idea what the Persona deal is actually like

 

none of us do, which is why i dont see why everyone jumps to it for evidence that persona will never show up anywhere else

 

Yeah my guess would be some will someday

 

and to clarify im not expecting persona ports to be announced but i wouldnt be surprised if they did. atlus has been developing a pretty strong relationship with nintendo and theyre games that i think have outlived their exclusivity lifespan, and theres precedent for the persona ip appearing in nintendo consoles.

 

We’re definitely getting another Fire Emblem before the Switch is done.

BotW2 is coming this year, bet.

 

im pretty convinced botw 2 will be their big holiday title and that it will be the main focus of their e3 presentation.

 

Persona 1-4 aren't even on PS4 so I highly doubt it lol

What are you even talking about? They don't have to let anything go. No company does. That's the whole point of their business partnerships too otherwise everything would be on all consoles and clearly things don't work that way. Why are exclusives a thing at all? Would I love all games to be on all consoles? Sure, it would be rad to play Sunset Overdrive on Switch and Banjo Kazooie on PS4 and Octopath Traveler on Xbox One, or whatever. But companies have every right, for the sake of their business or even just what they feel is necessary, to do what they want. If Atlus was suddenly like "oh yeah, let's jump ship with this relationship with Sony that we've developed over a decade" and chance ruining any partnerships with them going forward, that seems like a bad call. We don't know the ins and outs of their business deals, but there's very much the possibility that Sony helped them with game developments, finances, promotions/marketing or producing for any number of titles and that allowed them to release to a wider audience than they would have otherwise or even gave Atlus enough money to develop other passion projects for other consoles. Like we all said, we don't know.

 

I think they’re saving all their big first party releases for the end of the year to compete with next gen, I expect we won’t get a lot from Nintendo until E3 to increase the hype for that presentation and get it some attention alongside the new consoles being premiered

 

This seems like a real logic prediction. I wouldn't put it past them to show us a small 15 second cutscene for Metroid Prime 4 and be like "it's still coming out" or Pikmin 4 or something and then announce the date for BOTW 2 at E3 to compete

 

I originally thought there’d be a March General Direct and a Nindies soon after but seeing the Wonderful 101 news all the indie announcements dribble out last week makes me think Nintendo will just do specific game announcements and individual Directs for games with imminent release dates (Xenoblade) only and save everything else up E3, by that time the hype will be through the roof and the media will be equally as focused on seeing what Nintendo’s got for the rest of the year as they are on PS5 and Series X.

Sadly, if I was going to put money on it I’d be betting on BOTW2 not making it out by the end of the year - think it’s very likely we’ll see it delayed AC-style to March ‘21, especially if the virus situation in Japan gets worse

i guess i just prefer conjecture when its for hoping something cool happens over using it for shitting on other people’s wants.
