I played both and thought the second one expanded nicely on the first. They're pretty similar overall, but 2 is much more polished and has better pacing.

Bought Jedi Knight II, and the first thing I did after about playing 15 seconds was turn off motion controls. Graphics have come a long way since this game, but it was nice seeing the Lucas Arts logo pop up. I never played this game, so I’m excited to fully dive in.

This along with no cloud saves makes it pretty hard to like Nintendo right now.

 

It was also recently leaked that it won’t support transferred saved data. So if you get a new switch you can’t carry your island over.
