    Fun must be always. Prestigious

N64 was my intro and Mario kart was my game. Rainbow road jump forever.

How ridiculous is rainbow road in mario kart 8? I've only got to play that game for like 5 min at the Nintendo Store in NYC.

Yeah NES was my first intro to video games and Nintendo. I don't even remember getting one, just that I had one in my room as a kid. I think my uncle gave it to me. I just remember doing work on Darkwing Duck

I'm still happy I went with the Mega Drive. I think 4 year old me appreciated Sonic and 25 year old me can appreciate Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VI now.

yeah this is true, I think I have a way bigger appreciation now for games like Secrets of Mana or Illusions of Gaia or Earthbound then I would have if I played them in like elementary school

edit: plus then I wouldn't have gotten Sega Channel, which was dope

Yeah I wouldn't have been able to beat most of those games, even stuff like Super Mario World would have given me trouble, ha. Sonic meant the world to me though and got me into gaming in general. I think Ocarina was the perfect introduction for me to Nintendo games.

Frequent lurker of these threads. When I was in college I had a Gameboy Micro. I would play Zelda, Pokemon, and other random games on it all the time. I would actually take it to class with me and sit in the very back of the huge general classes that I had to take, but didn't really need to pay attention in.

Then when I was older I accidentally left it in my jacket pocket and it got washed and doesn't work at all and now I can't even find it. Does anyone happen to know where I could find one for a decent price? I've looked everywhere, but so far the cheapest I could find is a little under 100 dollars which is just way too much. I mostly want it for nostalgia reasons, but I would be very happy if I could find one moderately priced.

I got a Gameboy right when it first came out for a present. I have a bunch of those original Game & Watch systems including the first two Donkey Kong clamshell ones. I have a Super Mario Bros watch from 1989 that I was actually looking up earlier on eBay which appears to be worth anywhere from 50-130 bucks. I was kind of surprised. I don't think I could ever sell that. Never had an NES but everybody else did haha. Played that for hours at friend's houses.

I'm 32 and have owned every Nintendo console. Throughout the late 80s and 90s my parents would host Japanese foreign exchange students, usually 2 or 3 every summer. The majority of them were really into Nintendo and that planted the seed for my love of Nintendo and Japanese culture in general.
These days my wife tolerates my gaming habits, she doesn't play but she gets me games for Christmas and birthdays.
I work in the oilfields and the guys like to poke fun at me when I'm playing games like Woolly World on my 3DS, but it doesn't bother me.
I'm probably one of the few big bearded rednecks with a Zelda decal on the back of his giant lifted truck, most people just assume it's some sort of tribal art haha.

It's always been a dream of mine to write a book, or at the very least a lengthy blog post, about what Nintendo means to me. Specifically the game boy line.

I'm 29. I don't remember getting the original game boy but I know I had it from a very young age. My mom bought it for me because her brother had one that I would play all the time. He was a senior in high school and my grandparents would take care of me every day while my parents worked so he would let me play it.

I've had every iteration of the Nintendo handheld starting with the game boy except the pocket and the micro. Really wish I would have gotten a micro but I already had a DS by that time. I would take them everywhere. I still have all my games, most of which with all the original packaging. I've had numerous bags and accessories. I still have the game boy camera and printer with paper.

The only Nintendo console I didn't have was the SNES. I didn't play the GameCube much because of XBox and PS2. I have a Wii U but have probably only played it once just because I don't have much time for games because of having a baby. But I still play my 3DS very often.

    Sorry for the long post.

Their handhelds mean a lot to me too. Gun to my head I'd chose a Nintendo handheld over any other gaming hardware every time.

  14. I preordered OoT and my parents took me to pick it up on release day, but I couldn't play it until Christmas. My parents just kept it sitting on a dresser in their bedroom, so I would come home from school every day and look at the box and read the back cover while they were still at work. Meanwhile, all of my friends were already playing the game and telling me how great it was. I was in sixth grade and that was the longest month of my life.

    Coming from Eiji Aonuma...
    Top 3 favorite Zelda games?

    3. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

"Twilight Princess, because I wanted to create something better than Ocarina."

    2. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

"Ocarina of Time is a game that gave me the opportunity to create a 3D world."

    1. The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass

"This is something my wife also likes, Phantom Hourglass. That’s number one. I was developing Twilight Princess, and the goal for that was to make something better than Ocarina. But then that game was something I proposed as a new style of gameplay, and I was a producer on that game for the first time, so I have a lot of sentiment for it."

    The Most underrated Zelda?

"The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes. I wanted the users to play a little bit more of that game and have that experience. I love that game."

I lent a lot of Game Boy games to a "friend" in high school and never got them back ugh. I don't think I had anything rare like Mega Man 5 at least though. My original Game Boy still works (albeit with a lot of lines on the screen) and I still have a Color too

I find it funny how he says Twilight Princess because he wanted to make something better than Ocarina and then ranks Ocarina above it. Also Phantom Hourglass at 1 is some crazy shit.

  20. Maybe I worded that wrong. My parents preordered/paid for it. I had no cash to speak of at 11 years old.

Yeah I really enjoyed the DS games, but they certainly wouldn't make my top 3.
