Fates Birthright is my favorite FE

 

I haven't played any FE between the GBA ones and Three Houses. Which ones are worth playing?

 

All the 3DS ones are pretty well-liked, although I’ve personally only played through Awakening out of those three. But Awakening is awesome. And Three Houses obviously. But they’re all worth playing to some degree (although you’d need a Wii to play Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn).

 

oh damn I forgot about those last two, I actually did own the Gamecube one for awhile. Good thing you can play it on the Wii because the physical copy is $$$$

 

Yeah you’d have to look for a cheap used copy of it somehow.

There’s also Shadow Dragon for DS, the remake of the original NES game. And that’s all of them since The Sacred Stones on GBA.

 

Here's something funny: @oldjersey playing through Tokyo Mirage Sessions made me remember how back when it first came out for Wii U I avoided it because I thought it was a music/rhythm game lol. I had no idea it was a JRPG. Might have to pick that up next time I'm looking for something to play.

 

They should also make a rhythm game

But yeah I am in love with TMS

 

I definitely got the double pack with the Persona 4 spinoff and I love them

 

I need to get TMS

 

P4 Dancing All Night is their best rhythm game.

 

I agree it's the only one where I actually agreed with their difficulty settings

P3 and P5 were both too easy IMO

Someone at work today explained it to me as Fire Emblem + Shin Megami Tensei. I've never played an SMT game so I have no frame of reference for what that's like

 

my understanding is that it's nothing at all like mainline SMT or Fire Emblem and is more like Persona with FE easter eggs

overall it sounds cool but the initial pitch and the final product may as well be entirely separate projects

 

Absolutely nothing like FE, can't speak for SMT. It has FE characters and sound effects though!

It’s closer to an SMT game in terms of the battle, but with FE characters as like a version of Personas almost, where they become the weapons your characters use while they’re dungeon-crawling.

Hit the metal mode jackpot playing slots in DQXI, buying that huge ass sword. This game rules

 

TMS is nothing like FE and it's way more Persona than SMT. The music side of it is related to the plot instead of gameplay. It's full on dungeon crawler JRPG.

It's like Persona - the social aspects + the SMT grind + weird J-Pop plot

It's definitely a little more niche than Persona but if you enjoy Persona there's a very good chance you'll enjoy this game
