There are no good gens of Pokemon. The problem people have is viewing everything as gens and that's the one thing Sword and Shield did right which was just including a smattering of a lot of gens.

 

all games other than black and white have included a smattering of all gens since gold and silver. sword and shield just removed the ability to obtain the non-included mons via trade and upwards transfer after the main campaign was completed. other than that the formula is the same.
