lol I’m probably 80 hours into DQXI on my PS4, and pretty sure nowhere close to beating it. Can’t imagine being able to play it twice. Amazing game though. Even tough the Gyldygga boss fight had a ridiculous difficulty spike.

 

Radiant Historia is top 10 for me probably top 5

Top 2 is Persona 5 and DQXI and the rest don't come close.

 

Since DQXI and P5 are the only JRPG’s I’ve ever finished they’re most certainly my top.

Is FE: TH considered a JRPG or a tactical/strategy game?

 

Radiant Historia is phenomenal and more unique and takes bigger swings and has a better story. but i just enjoy playing DQXI more

 

strategy rpg but Three Houses takes big Persona cues outside of combat

start over, didn’t you take a long break from playing it at one point?

 

i appreciate that DQXI can stomp you sometimes, but it doesnt necessarily mean its telling you to get out and grind more. even the first boss in the Kingsbarrow smashed me the first time and i just rethought my strategy and switched my build a little and was good to go

I think when I played Bravely Default the FFTA2 job system was still fresh in my mind so I got a bit annoyed at how underwhelming it was in comparison, but yeah that entire battle system is great.

 

just watched a video about it, i played it on Wii U but i kinda want to grab it again

but i did buy a lot of megaten games on sale + replaying radiant right now. so i'm not sure how much more JRPG i'll be able to take lmao

I’m not trying to shit in DQ11 at all but XC2 > DQ9 > DQ11 in terms of how I want JRPGs to be

 

I love XC2 but I definitely wouldn't want it to be the JRPG norm lol
