Yeah if I had to get rid of one of the three (assuming the Switch pans out) it would be the Xbox One. I play it the least and really see nothing on the horizon that would get me to play it more often. I upgraded my PS4 Pro's internal hard drive to 2TB and use it for all non-exclusives. And I always have a Nintendo console because Nintendo. So just by process of elimination the Xbox would be the odd one out.

My family has never really given me shit for continuing to play video games even as I edge toward 30. They even buy me some if I ask when we meetup for Christmas or my birthday.

Currently have all the consoles, though am contemplating getting ride of the One and the Wii U. The former I almost never use and the latter I can get all the games on it that I liked on the new system, for the most part. So there's some hesitancy about getting rid of the Wii U since I don't know if I'll be able to play like the FE/SMT crossover game on it (if they offer digital wii u downloads or some re-release).

I agree that a modern Zelda collection would be nice. Still cherish my promo copy of that 4 pack for Gamecube with I/II/OoT/MM.

I get this kinda messed up amusement from r/WiiU that I probably shouldn't. I just have never seen a community of people show such conviction while defending something to the bitter end. "But it has good games!". Okay, so, lowest bar possible for a gaming system: cleared. Every "top games" list for the system consists of the same 20 titles, maybe omitting something like Wonderful 101 or Bayonetta on 1 out of every 5 lists. Many of those top titles are remakes or multiplatform. Still, there are people there that act as though their entire love of gaming is dying with the Wii U.

I'm a Nintendo fanboy, through and through. I was a very "advanced"/"gifted" kid, and the first thing I ever read to myself was the Story blurb in the Super Mario World instruction manual. The only time I felt I could exact revenge on my evil older sisters was when I'd slaughter them in Mario Kart 64 battle mode on Double Deck. I was one of the early DS adopters, drawing penises on PictoChat in middle school.

However, the Wii U sucked. It has some of the best games I've ever played, but it was overpriced, underpowered, and required Sega 32X levels of peripherals if you wanted to ensure you could play the entire library. The Gamepad didn't lend itself to the experience in any way that the DS/3DS family didn't already do much better. I will not miss plugging my nunchuk into my Wiimote only to realize that I accidentally picked up a regular Wiimote when I need one with Motion +, only to have the cat pull the sensor bar off my TV for the umpteenth time.

Death to Wii U. All hail Switch (hopefully).

I've had all three since the PS2/Xbox/Gamecube era. I'm too fond of exclusives to miss out.

Yeah, I mean Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Super Mario 3D World, and Bayonetta 2 (literally the only games I ever played for the thing in all the time I owned it) aren't worth picking the Wii U as your hill to die on.

    Cursed by my ancestry

A buddy of mine sold me his Xbox one for $200 a couple years ago, which was a great deal at the time. I've been X1/wiiU/ps3/pc since then. I couldnt imagine selling my Xbox One. I play it more than any of my other systems. And once I'm done with Breath of the Wild on Switch, it will probably go back to being #1 for quite awhile. Especially with the GWG back log I've got.

I can't remember the last time I played my Xbox. I'm planning on playing that cool candle game soon though.

There isn't anything inherently wrong with the Wii U hardware, it just had a barren library and suffered from a complete failure of communication on Nintendo's part. Also they delayed the system's one true killer app so that it could launch on its successor simultaneously, which didn't help.

Bayonetta is the best. I have a fair amount of Wii U games. Enough to justify the purchase for me.

Same here. I have Tokyo Mirage pending.

I'm not sure why we are suddenly mentioning age in this thread, but 25.

I really fell in love with Nintendo during the end of GBA - start of DS era. I wasn't bullied or anything but I always felt like the people I knew didn't like the same things. So I spent most of my high school just playing videogames out of choice, and because everything else bored me lol. I say that now, but at that time I really felt like something was wrong with me.

There were just so many crazy games out there: Devil Survivor series, Elite Beat Agents, and then there were stuff like Lunar Legends, Knights in the Nightmare, Summon Knight, Layton, Ace Attorney, Rondo of Swords, Radiant Historia, FF remakes, FF Crystal Chronicles, Castlevania. also the touch screen games like Trauma Center, Warioware.

And then there were still Nintendo first party, and Intelligent System games. It was like every developer banded together and just enjoyed developing for the DS. Hoping the Switch gets the same treatment.

Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

I'm 24, and nobody will ever be able to make me feel about buying games. Hobbies are hobbies for a reason.

I want to sell my Wii U, but I don't want to have to lose out on playing Wind Waker and Twilght Princess. I wish they would just say both will be on Switch.

The Wii U was the first Nintendo console I skipped (unless you count Virtual Boy :upside:). I think I was mostly just burnt out on the Wii at the time and was also married and about to start a family so free time was certainly limited for a while. There are definitely some Wii U games that I hope make there way over to Switch though (Mario Kart 8 is a nice start!), because I am all aboard the Switch train :praise:
