So i recently came back into this thread, apologies if it has been talked about. Theoretically, can you get a second dock and move you system around to different TVs in your house?

 

Yes. The docks cost around $80 or $90 though iirc

im trying to decide if i want to shell out $70 for a pro controller. right now it's an easier decision since I cant find them in stock anywhere.

 

I'll probably end up getting the Pro controller, I don't see myself taking it off the dock very often, so I'll probably have it setup just like another console, and play with the Pro controller.

 

I'm not going for a pro controller, I'll primarily be playing with the Joycon loose in each hand, I loved how playing Mario Galaxy felt on the Wii with a similar setup

I have a pro controller preordered but I'll probably end up cancelling it, don't think I'll really use it much early on. I'll probably end up playing a lot of my Switch in handheld mode.

 

What do you guys think are the odds they'll end up selling a left joy con with a dpad on it? Cause that's the only thing that bothers me

yeah i do think that's an inevitable thing at some point. probably not this year though.

 

Yeah, I feel like different configurations/upgraded joycons are inevitable. A real d-pad is definitely my #1 need though, would buy one in a second.

interesting to see so many people jump on the pro controller without having held the joy-cons in their grip. not criticizing, just interesting.

 

Honestly, I think age has to do with this. Being as the greatest birthday of my life was getting SNES, I just prefer a normal controller. Especially since in will get all my old games from the estore

 

that's fair. I think it's been so long since I've had GOOD local multiplayer that I'm more inclined to get another set of joy-cons and a grip for Mario Kart 8. I love the idea of the pro controller but it's expensive for what it is. I'm not sure how they came up with the price of it when it's clear that all of the tech is in the joy-cons.

 

It has most of the tech of the joycons - HD rumble, motion controls, NFC for amiibos.

Just paid off my switch and Zelda. Still need to pay off the pro controller. I'm so damn excited

 

I really only consider getting one because of the dpad, otherwise I'd get a second set of joy cons
