Yeah if that's true it's a good sign definitely (even better chance of SE porting over to NX consistently)

Nintendo does not drop the price of games that sell consistently well enough (or in some cases, very well, like Mario Kart) over the lifetime of the console. Some games, like Codename Steam, do drop in price. It all comes down to numbers.

New Super Mario Bros. U is still 60 dollars while Super Mario 3D World is 20 dollars despite being a year younger. Maybe the profit works out for them, but I would imagine people only way less games on Nintendo systems as compared to Sony or Microsoft.

Actually the WiiU has a better attach rate then the other platforms, as far as I have read. It's pretty crazy in some cases.

How much of that is due to being out a year longer?

I have picked up a ton of PS3 games for less than ten dollars used, but there are Wii games that are still almost full price. Skyward Sword is still 50 dollars in Gamestop and a few other places.

GameStop is selling Skyward Sword used for $50. Which has nothing to do with Nintendo, rather the supply and demand of the retailer.
Even if the MSRP is $60 the retailer will drop the price if the game isn't selling well. Just look a Starfox Zero on Amazon.

To be fair Mario Bros. U is now bundled with Luigi U, which is a savings of $20. (I think that's what I paid for Luigi as dlc when it came out)

Has anyone played AM2R? I would love to play, but don't currently have a PC. I did play Zero Mission and Prime in celebration of Metroids 30th this month. Damn I almost forgot how great those games were... Still on the fence about Federation Force

    But that supply and demand is partly to do with Nintendo. Price drops on the new games lead to price drops on used games. I bought the three Uncharted games for less than five dollars each;

Big Nintendo games generally sell comparatively (and sometimes absolutely) more copies than Sony/Micrsoft exclusives (especially in terms of attach rate), and they keep on selling well for a much longer time. That's why the price stays up. Games that don't sell get a price drop. Also, there is something to be said for not engaging in the devaluation of video games. The "it'll be 5$ in 6 months" mentality is literally killing indie games.

Yeah, budget-wise I prioritize Ninty games since I know Steam games will get cheaper later on.

I'm not trying to deprive indie devs of anything, just more economical for me.

That said, I do buy anything from Supergiant at full price and probably buy Inside at SRP as well.

Oh don't get me wrong I also wait for sales. I don't think this is on the consumer. The companies got themselves in this mess, which is why I respect and applaud Nintendo for not participating.

Was just thinking about how I never got to play Galaxy. If that ends up being true I'd be so happy.

Every main title Mario game I've ever played has been incredible experiences so far.

I only played it briefly but Galaxy was some of the most fun I've ever had with a Mario game tbh

Galaxy was cool, but I couldn't be bothered to play as Luigi after getting all of the stars.

Mario Galaxy 2 is the best platformer of all time imo, I 100%'d that one. It's a damn shame a game that gorgeous was relegated to 480p.

Dragon Ball Fusions was rated for release in Brazil, speculation building that it will be announce for America on Thursday's Direct, I would lose my mind.

All these Nintendo fans not having played the Galaxy games is crazy. I am in the middle of the second one and it is incredible how Nintendo is willing to completely flip the ways in which their most famous franchises work, and they succeed more often than not.

It really is a wonderful series. In a world of unnecessary HD remakes, Mario Galaxy 2 begs for one. The gravity mechanic makes secrets feel truly hidden. The new powerups for Yoshi & Mario both were great across the board. Can't say enough to praise that series.

Never had a Ninty or any console (my parents used to have this dumb rule that anything that connects to a tv will eventually ruin it) so that was always a bummer for me.

Wii U is the first one and I just got it 1 month ago.

Thanks. That's going to be 11:30PM here, don't care. not getting sleep tonight lol

Also grain of salt but read a rumor about 3DS being supported until 2018. If that ends up being true it's gonna be so crazy.

Well it's not that weird. They did release Pokemon White/Black 2 for the DS more than a year after the 3DS was released. The 3DS is still quite a successful platform, so the sunsetting will be stretched out a little, like they did with the DS or Sony/MS did with the PS3/Xbox 360. Don't expect too much though.
