To say I'm excited is an understatement. NIN has been one of my favorite bands since I was in 6th grade. I never would have imagined this being a possibility, even though Trent and NIN are more than deserving. Genuinely teared up when my buddy texted me last night once it leaked. I'm excited to see him (and the live band) get the recognition they deserve. I'd sorta assume the setlist would be: Head Like a Hole March of the Pigs (The only one that seems like a possible stretch) Hand That Feeds Hurt
Probably, maybe a song off the EP's. I don't know what song though, a lot of different sounds. Less Than would be killer. Given his love for Bowie, I wouldn't be surprised if he pulled out I'm Afraid of Americans.
The newest songs I can see them performing is She’s Gone Away or Copy Of A, but I’d think they’d stick to their older more popular material.
My ideal setlist would include Wish, but there's little chance of that. Another thing I'm sort of excited for, for literally no reason beyond being weird nerdy, Bruce Springsteen (my favorite artist of all time) will also be at the event inducting Jon Landau. Those worlds colliding in any way is nuts to me.
nah all of Ghosts I-IV, extended with further improvisation, and then "Get Down, Make Love" as an encore
Seeing Broken done in full night one of the last tour, THAT blew my mind. I never ever ever thought it would happen.
The Definitive Edition of With Teeth sounds amazing. Anxiously awaiting the same reissue of Year Zero.
yeah I'm so keen for a Year Zero remastered sound, but at the same time they're gonna have a pretty hard job matching the original design for that album. I still think that's the greatest album rollout/packaging I've ever seen
If there is any musician I trust to give proper attention and detail to their packaging and aesthetic, it’s Trent haha
oh no doubt at all. the vinyl I have from NIN are some of the most gorgeous I own, easily. just saying that original YZ rollout is some shit that's impossible to top, it's not a bad thing!
Trent goes above and beyond for the NIN brand, specifically sound and now with the vinyl reissues. So I have total and complete faith it’ll be top tier. Especially if he rereleases the remix record too. That artwork is great. The Year Zero alternate reality campaign is easily the coolest thing a band has done in that way. To build a world that properly contextualizes the art, it was insane. I remember waiting for new USB’s to be uncovered and the files being purged. Websites being hidden in shirt designs. Decoding weird audio sounds into morse code and then finding the sites that correlated. I really wish the miniseries would have happened.
the miniseries would have slapped but I loved the whole ARG. that Hour of Arrival/Doug letter is still one of the most unnerving things I've ever read
I think the craziest thing - at the time - was the fact that we were getting a new NIN record <2 years after With Teeth
