Oddly that would be my only complaint about this is that we already have a whole Year Zero remixed album.
Yeah I agree. It’s great, but it never stuck with me the way that other albums in their discography have. Honestly, sometimes I kind of forget about it lol. But yeah, seeing that Vessel remix live made me revisit it more
I believe Year Zero and then Ghosts I-IV were near the end if not the end of when the stems were readily available and released, too.
this really feels like the antithesis of Still in a lot of ways (even if it's also in a similar vein). it's all songs we've heard before, but they've been reconstructed in a way that unlocks new potential that isn't as simple as an acoustic version or traditional remix. the catch is that it dials everything the fuck up, and really zeroes in on the band's mid to late career work instead of just pulling from the first 3 albums.
Yeah, it was in that period where they stopped being released - physical media just wasn't a thing people wanted.
i'd kill for anything of theirs in Atmos. i know there are 5.1 mixes of different albums and scores out there, but i think the only thing commercially released in Atmos is TSN.
The time and effort it'd take is probably just not worth it. He's not going to be someone who trusts the plugin to place it wherever it seems appropriate. But that's why I don't listen to any Atmos - so much of it is bad.
yeah, iirc, they've generally avoided Atmos mixes for streaming because of how it gets folded down for stereo channels. they explicitly held off on an Atmos mix of IICHLIWP for a while because of it. would kill for a Blu-ray
Listened while mowing the lawn, running a 5K and powerlifting all at the same time. The power of music at work.
Finally got to give it a go this morning. This will just continuously be on repeat for the foreseeable future lol Album as a whole is incredible. Vessel remix is still so sick and my favorite for sure. I can’t help but feel like all the audience cheering throughout the whole thing is kinda tacky though. Couldn’t really tell if it was supposed to be a live album or not
Also, can the next NIN album just sound like this??? I want Trent and Atticus to make some heavy, grimy industrial
Maybe I shouldn’t be, but a little surprised they haven’t changed anything up (outside of the setlist) for performance #2.
Anything to differentiate the two from each other? Edit: I think they have kind of done some different lighting on a few songs here.
It’s the same stage setup with a few tweaks here and there. Not sure what you’re expecting? It’s not going to be vastly different from one weekend to the next.
