Also them doing She's Gone Away was a big moment for me as a Twin Peaks fan. Thank you, The Nine Inch Nails.
Wish I could have made Chicago night 2, but got sick. Very happy that I was there for night 1 though. The visuals on the fabric were crazy, especially for Reptile and Copy of A. I also really dug the Boys Noize set and have been playing their music nonstop since. Production sounded so good coming out of those speakers I wish I was in the pit so I could have danced and grooved to it more.
Agreed with you on the Sphere concept and same. It would rock. I'm understanding of the 1.5hr sets though. Trent is 60 and Atticus is 57. I understand watching Foo Fighters go so long and then seeing just an hour and a half set and that perspective, but I'm just thankful Trent still wants to tour. I know 2022 wasn't the final tour at the time, but it sure felt like NIN was winding down for the long-term. The rejuvenation of the band with the Tron soundtrack and all the other NIN-related projects in the works was a welcome surprise, and I'm just along for the ride as long as Trent and Atticus are.
low key I don’t think they’d have any interest in the sphere. Trent and his artistic directors have never utilized video imagery, it’s always been lights/shadows/scrim/etc. While I don’t doubt they would create an insane show, it just doesn’t come off like something they’d be interested in. I’d much rather see them eventually move into a small intimate venue tour around the movie scores and retire some of the traditional NIN material.
It’s kind of funny to me that Josh has been back in full force with NIN for almost a month now and there’s still been no word from Ilan about leaving/joining Foo Fighters other than this post he made today
Someone help me cope with the fact that the Boston show has a “Reptile” lyric shirt instead of the “Every Day Is Exactly The Same” one
Also went last night. Visually that was one of the coolest shows I've seen while also being a pretty minimal set up. But good lord is the sound atrocious in Barclays Center.
i didnt really have a problem with the mix but i also tend to like my nine inch nails as loud and blown out as possible but yea the visual aspect was another level from anything else ive seen, esp during the hesitation marks songs
Last night was awesome. Minor quibble but I wish we got "Mr. Self Destruct" rather than "Somewhat Damaged" but was cool we got both "Burn" and "The Perfect Drug". I think the Boys Noize part in the middle was my favorite as it was a cool way to reimagine songs.
