what a setlist. throw in Just Like You Imagined, Letting You, and Shit Mirror, and i would go absolutely feral.
Reptile also is always amazing live. Robin always does that scream during the last “oh my beautiful liar” and it is sick.

I wonder why it took Trent so long to play it, I remember for years he’d say it was basically impossible with the drums. But given the programming they do with it, that‘s obviously not true - nor was it ever. Vrenna, Jerome, Freese, and Ilan can all play it in their sleep. it kinda scared me when they busted it out last tour, like maybe Trent was gonna retire the band for good so they need to start doing the ‘impossible’ songs.
tbh I mostly thought he didn’t care much for the song. idk why I got that impression. maybe it’s bc I’ve never really loved it myself and projected that feeling onto Trent idk, but I could have sworn it was something more than just “it’s too difficult”. edit: actually, yeah. I seem to be on the right track here Nine Inch Nails - The Perfect Drug (song) | nin.wiki
Fair! i guess both thoughts are true, or are assumed to be. With him doing PD now, all I need is Deep and We’re In This Together to be added to the set and it’ll fully satisfy my wildest dreams. though I think these are even harder on his voice.
Also, Trent on the WITT video, ‘There was good artistic communication until the very end when I got the edit back and got into a situation where what I saw in my head wasn't on the screen. It comes down to a bigger problem which is I've taken over every aspect of the recording process... But in the world of video, I don't know how to do that yet, I haven't directed my own videos so I have to embrace another artists ideals and hope that they see my vision. On this particular one when I got to the end I realized his vision wasn't mine and we tried to reach a common ground and heads butted, and it amounted to me editing the video by myself. There's a slightly unpleasant taste in the whole process of that thing but it made me learn it's time to read the manual for my video camera and just do that too.’ Absolute maniac, and I love it.
Also, for anyone wanting to enjoy a nice Friday night in, the live video release that Trent shelved in ‘95 finally leaked a couple weeks ago.
:o uh yes pls. I ordered the AATCHB DVD a couple weeks back on a whim (I had it years ago but either sold or misplaced it at some point) and good lord that’s such a good document of that era
omg opening with Pinion progressively slowing to a borderline uncomfortable pace into mr. self destruct :’)
thought i read somewhere a few years ago that their current live band essentially had every song from The Fragile more or less under their belts, meaning they could theoretically play the entire thing front to back one day. i'd give up anything to see that live.
I can see Trent deciding to randomly insert album shows, or at least I’m putting those vibes into the universe. I saw them do Broken the first night of the last tour - and everyone collectively lost their mind when they broke into Last as we started to realize what was happening. I need that again.
would be cool to do a 2-date thing with the Fragile, one disc in full one night with an encore set of songs from the rest of the discog and the other disc the next night with an entirely different set of encore songs.
When I saw them on their "farewell" tour it was I'm pretty sure the first time they had ever played Downward Spiral in its entirety
