I've listened to this record no fewer than 50 times now and I'm still dumbfounded by the closing track's intensity every time
Damn, I guess I need to listen to this again... I love post-hardcore but for some reason I never got too into the new album.
A Dialogue in Cataplexy is song of the year maybe the best post hardcore track of the 2010s idc idc idc idc
Night Verses will be continuing as an instrumental trio. Well i think that's a bummer. The band was superb with Douglas.
I don't think they will have nearly as much of a push as just instrumentals, tbh. I wonder if this is because of Aric being in The Fever with Jason from Letlive?
I didn't enjoy their last album unfortunately, but Douglas was brilliant with them. Really bummed about this though they definitively have the skills to move on an instrumental trio. Now I never got to see them live with Douglas, crapppp
Wow that sucks, I mean cool for them but shit. I really really liked their first album, 2nd one wasn't quite as good imo but still cool. Damn.
I'm super bummed. Into the Vanishing Light is imo the best post hardcore album of the last 10 years at least. They're all monsters at their respective instruments but Doug added a ton to their sound and I'm sad we won't get to hear whatever their next step would have been with him. Glad I got to see them with him once, at least
I been a fan since they were Sound Archives but Doug took this band to the next level. His vocal work was perfectly in line with the band. Lift Your Existance is perfect and Vanishing Light underwhelmed in comparison but it's still an amazing record in its own right. Mega bummed about this. I can't get into instrumental bands at all. I think this is a grave mistake and I wish they would reconsider.. oh well. I assume they will put out their 3rd LP and then eventually split off since it is hard for instrumental bands to get big enough to hop on big tours and gain a huge following. I had such high hopes for this band and saw them as the second coming of Deftones in all honesty. Ugh. This really bums me out..
I'm betting not. They pulled a Tides of Man but what happened to that band? I haven't seen them mention once since they dropped their record. Not trying to be a dick. Just stating it's extremely hard for a instrumental band to garner the attention it would get with a vocalist. Nick, Reily, and Aric are mega talented musicians so I'll check out LP3 without a doubt but am I anywhere close to being excited as I was when I thought Doug was still part of NV? Unfortunately I'm not.
Yeah I saw that... how odd? Doug is a beast of a vocalist so I'll check it out. I'll check out anything that man does.
I will say I do think that Night Verses will be more than able to do some killer things as an instrumental band. They are all monstrously talented, and they absolutely have it in them to produce something up to the caliber and appeal of like, Animals as Leaders imo.
I've seen zero news about this so that's surprising. Instrumentally, they're stronger than ever, but do I enjoy them as much as before with Tillian? Not at all. That's just my opinion of course but I do think a lot of people share the same one ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I have no doubt they will release insane material. I do doubt that it will get the reach it deserves losing a vocalist.
Also, I think the videos they have posting are really rad. But I think toning that down to shorter outbursts in songs, melded with more tame musicianship and added melodies, made them really damn cool. I will miss that.
Damn this sucks, they put out probably my favorite Post Hardcore album, I love Doug's voice and screams. Where is the info on Dougs new gig?
