Man I already want Part 2 so bad. It seems like it ends just as it's getting started. Still going to use it a lot in the meantime, but not too much as I don't want to burn out until next March.
Yeah my chief complaint about this is I don't want to wait for part 2, if the back half is as good as the front half this will be there best, plus i really wanna peep that Brandon Boyd track.
Nick finally getting some recognition in guitar spaces “In the beginning, I would just rip Tom Morello… Then I realized I could maneuver notes, harmonics and chords. I can do some weird stuff with the Whammy”: How Nick DePirro became one of instrumental metal’s most technically adventurous players https://www.guitarworld.com/feature...-sound-has-a-color-in-the-valley-of-the-night
We’re still bracing ourselves for the release of Part 1, but what can you reveal about the direction of Part 2? “On the second half, we have vocal features. That was cool for us, because it was an opportunity to consider a vocalist, and where they would fit in with what we do. I also think the second half possibly has the weirder songs – and what I mean by that is that there’s a couple time signatures or vibes that we don’t have on the first half as much.” Okay they're trying to end me
The thing that always drew me to Nick’s playing was the Egyptian sounding/middle eastern flair he plays with. If someone has an official term for that, I’d love to know what it is, haha.
I think there's a particular guitar scale that refers to that but I'm a total noob in guitar theory despite playing for so long lol
Just took a few hits and going in for a concentrated listen since I was only listening on Friday while working. Production on this thing is aces.
Wow, yeah, these guys are already pretty well respected in prog metal circles, gotta think this will definitely help even more.
Here's a new video of Nick displaying why he remains one of my biggest influences ever On a newer IG video, he also said they've started writing the next album (assuming the one that will come after Part 2)
His intro of releasing “some” music on his own is understatement of the year. He’s an absolute productivity machine
Sorry if this was already posted, but March 15th. 1. 8 Gates Of Pleasure 2. Arrival 3. Rose Wire 4. Karma Wheel 5. Love In A Liminal Space 6. Bound To You 7. Séance (feat. Justin Chancellor of Tool) 8. Plague Dancer 9. Åska (feat. Author & Punisher) 10. Glitching Prisms (feat. Brandon Boyd of Incubus) 11. Desire To Feel Nothing 12. Crystal X 13. I hope that split album thing has worked in their eyes, but it just hasn’t been for me. I think I listened through once and thought it was all good, but nothing grabbed me immediately, and I think I’m just gonna wait until part 2 to really commit.
