Fun album, not all that great but hey, you can tell they had a good time with it

 

Yeah and to be honest, I really didn't even have that much fun with it. whether it was their intent or not, I hear a lot of Under The Blacklight in this. Wasn't a huge fan of that album, either. Though, there are like 4 songs on there that I still listen to quite a bit.

 

I love Blacklight, don't think this reminded me of it though. That album is super polished and this is basically a garage rock album

 

I guess I meant her vocal style. I also hear it in the guitars. Haven't listened more than once though.

 

I liked this, unsure how much I'll go back though.

 

All these songs are pretty similar musically

 

Had no idea this was a Jenny Lewis thing. Heard a song on the radio the other day and loved it.

 

Saw them live the other night, well rather heard.... I think it was really unique a cool, they played in a circle on the floor of the venue, with the audience standing all around them AND on stage, it was unlike anything I've seen... but it was impossible to see ANYTHING for 80% of the audience. I was up on stage, and there was literally only like, 2 people in front of me, but it was enough for no one before the first row to see anything of the show at all

 

Sounds pretty cool. Never heard anything like it before.

I would have too if it didn't make it impossible to actually see. Anyway, cool show overall

 

Really enjoying this album. Haven't listened to any of Jenny Lewis' other work.

 

Weird, I think this is easily her worst album haha.`

 

Are her others much different?

 

From each other? Yeah. Rilo Kiley, solo, Watson Twins, all have distinct sounds. I think they they are all way more complete and formed albums, this album is fun but totally the same thing all the way through and I don't really care for the garage sound
