I absolutely agree with this, I do think Ward would make a nice gadget player. I'm not very thrilled knowing Alshon is still a starter if he doesn't get traded, whatever WR they draft in the first needs to be ready to start or play day one.

 

Completely agreed, which is why I think that there's a chance Ward isn't a starter but is a depth player. I can absolutely see a scenario where they sign a free agent and they draft a receiver high and those two players are starting alongside DJax until Alshon is healthy enough to play. Or maybe Alshon is ready by week one and it's him and DJax alongside the rookie or the free agent they brought in. There are a lot of possibilities and that's not even taking into account anything that JJAW could possibly give.

I'm sure Randall or Elf could vouch for this, but I'm pretty sure DJ Chark was just not a thing in year one. He blew up in year two though so there's always the chance that JJAW takes a step forward. It all comes back around to how I don't think the Eagles are going to spend big money on WR in free agency when they've got Alshon and DJax on the books still, as well as a couple young options in Ward and JJAW (and probably a rookie). I think next year, if/when Alshon and DJax are gone, is when the Eagles might spend big on a free agent WR.

 

I completely agree with all of this, I think they will probably spend money in FA on a corner, it's just a matter of who they get. I do hope they draft another RB to pair with Sanders and Scott.

 

Byron Jones would be ideal, but I'm afraid the Eagles might not pony up for him if he's looking to reset the market as the highest paid corner. Still, the Eagles are desperate for outside corner help so I'd be okay with a deal along the lines of three years and $16M/year.

As for RB, I'd like to see them take a RB on day that can be a bruiser in short yardage and goal line situations to replace Jordan Howard. Sanders and Scott form a promising young nucleus and I'm looking forward to seeing what they can do in year two with the Eagles.

 

Why is there no talk of the Dolphins moving up one of their later first-round picks? Imagine walking away with Tua and Becton?

 

if they can get Tua at 5, then yeah sure

if they have to trade picks/assets to move up from 5, I don't really want to trade more picks/assets to move up for a player. We need all the picks we can get.

Divisional:

Winner of 5th/4th at 1st
Winner of 3rd/6th at winner of 7th/2nd

And then the winner of those two games in the Championship?

Seems cool to me. More games = more fun.

 

Im sure it would still re-seed based on rank, so, assuming the top teams all win, yes, that would be the structure, but if a 7 seed wins, they'd play the 1 seed.

Im actually fine with this change, as only one bye makes it highly unlikely any team takes off Week 17 when they are atop the conference. I hate the idea of a 17 game season though.

I’m okay with 17 games in a season if there’s an added bye week.

 

17 game season is cool with me considering it just means one fewer preseason game we have to pretend to care about

 

That playoff seeding is hilarious UNLESS they do away with the division champ rule, which they should.

 

A minor annoyance of 17 games is that every record being broken now will have an asterisk that it’s partially due to playing an extra game.

 

I feel like the old records would be the ones with the asterisk
