    The rivalry is back on

It’s “get disappointed by Colts FA” season! Instead of Jones/Rivers/Castonzo, we’re getting a bag of coal and draft promise!

don't get me wrong I would love Thuney, but if he is all the Dolphins end up with off that list I will be kinda bummed

Woof losing D-Mac and Thuney would suck.

Everything regarding the Eagles on that list is underwhelming.

This is true, but it still doesn't change the fact that some of those players are underwhelming.

As an Eagles fan, I would be down with Clinton-Dix and Perriman. Though I would like to see them grab a corner too

Doesn't Perriman get hurt a lot ? I do not want Peters back.

Looking through that list, I can kind of see the Pats deciding to move on from Brady, go more run heavy on offense, and keep most of their veterans on defense instead.

Yep, would not willingly hand him more than a 2yr deal that is basically a 1yr deal. Missed all of his rookie year (and got hurt before the combine too), was not very good when healthy in Baltimore, and has missed 13 games the last 3 seasons.

He's a fine WR2 for a team like Seattle that doesnt throw that much and likes big chunk plays when passing, but most of his TB production is just pure volume from Winston.

Perriman is not good, Evans and Godwin both missed chunks of the season and they had no one else to throw to. Wouldn't be surprised if the Giants signed perriman to a relatively cheap 1yr deal or something because he had his best season with kitchens.

He missed two games last year with a strained hamstring. No clue what 2018 looked like for him, but I know he was bouncing around the league a bit before landing with Cleveland and turning it on a bit late in the season. He had a PCL tear in 2015 and a partial ACL tear in 2016, but those are the only big ones.

Personally, I would rather have him on a one-year deal for $7M than Robby Anderson on something like a three-year $13-15M/year type of deal (which is what Anderson is looking for). Perriman isn't a sexy signing at all, but he's started to pop up a bit over the last couple years with Cleveland and Tampa Bay. It's also worth mentioning that Alshon and DJax are due a combined $24M this year and the Eagles are currently ranked ninth in spending at the WR position for 2020 (excluding free agents) at a total of $29M (per Over The Cap). I don't see them signing somebody like Anderson in free agency, or especially Amari Cooper, and bumping that total beyond $40M. I think they sign a cheaper option, like Perriman, in free agency and then draft a WR high in April. I can't see them drafting WR high if they spend big on the position in free agency. Plus, I keep hearing that they are going to spend big at cornerback and they've also got holes to fill at LB and S so I think they'd be wise not to dish out another Alshon-like contract to a free agent this year.

I agree with you about Peters though. Didn't see him at first. I would like to see them move on from him so they can make Dillard the starter, but I also won't be surprised if he's back for another season.

Isn't most of his missed games the last few seasons because he wasn't on any active roster for much of 2018?

Also that Perriman injury wasn’t just a PCL, it affected all the ligaments (MCL and ACL too). I would certainly see him as a player with a short lifespan and his value sadly should plummet with age.

I do hope Greg Ward gets a shot to be our slot guy.

Nope. Jags cannot let him walk. That is a 0/10, F-minus move. If they knew they wouldn’t want to pay his number this year they should have traded him along with Ramsey and got THREE extra first round picks.

In fact, losing Ramsey should’ve paved the way for the Jags to offer Yannick whatever number he requires. Not signing Yannick ALSO makes losing Ramsey even worse, because then you can’t even say salary cap / other people needing to be signed played a part in it.

Ah, probably...but, "didn't play most of 2018 because he couldn't stay on a WAS roster whose leading WR was 44 catches for 532yds" and "couldn't outplay Rashard Higgins and Antonio Callaway" is maybe not what I'd want to be trotting out as an argument either.

Ask Tennessee how handing a $9mil/yr deal to TB's 3rd WR worked out

There is literally not one good reason not to sign Yannick. 31 other teams would gladly cut people to make room for the highest paid DEs in the league... if it meant they could have Ngakoue and Josh Allen both below the age of 25 and have very good to elite pass rush guaranteed for the next 10 years.

That duo is worth $40-$45M per year because pass rusher is probably the most sought after position behind quarterback. If Caldwell is about to act stingy about the concept of having TWO skyscraper-potential, super athletic defensive ends he’s a fucking idiot and should be fired THIS offseason.

I don't think Ward should just be handed the job with no questions asked, but I imagine he'll make the roster (helps that he's a returner on ST as well) and he'll get a chance to compete for the starting slot role.

The way is see it, Alshon and DJax are our starters. Unless Alshon is traded, he's gonna be back with the team for one more year. He might not even be ready for the season given his injury so his spot to open the season would then be up for grabs. I do think the Eagles bring in a free agent, as well as draft a rookie, and then they've still got JJAW who is gonna be on the roster so they've got decisions to make. There's a chance they could have six receivers on the active roster going into week one.

I'm pretty sure he was actually outplaying Callaway towards the end of the year, but I could be wrong. I also don't put any stock into what Washington's coaching staff was doing because they've all be fired now at this point. That team was a joke.

But you certainly have a point. I'm not a mega stan for Perriman, but he could be a solid addition to the team as a WR3 on a cheap one-year deal. I think that's all Perriman is until he gets the opportunity to be a starter for a full season. He kinda got that last year with TB, but Mike Evans and Chris Godwin were such target hogs (for good reason) so it's tough to judge Perriman's work when there was no room for him to go up.
