I’m just saying records as in Brady’s total stats cause that’s what people use to judge consistency

I was saying Reid is good and Mahomes and him can win more SBs, and people said LOOK AT RODGERS HE ONLY HAS ONE

and then I said “well McCarthy sucks”. And they were like “people weren’t talking shit about him after he won the super bowl either”, and I said well........................... Drew was hahahah

Disregarding the assumption that Belichwck isn’t good at both offense and defense (he is), I would take the elite defensive mastermind of our generation over anything. I do not think anybody adapts and reads the situation better than Belicheck on the defensive side of the ball.

Payton is a good offensive coach but he’s not well rounded. Belicheck’s defensive prowess has actually turned him INTO a skilled offensive game planner simply because he constantly studies how other playoff level OC’s attack. He isn’t gonna give you those McVay trick plays but he CERTAINLY is very good at smelling blood and attacking the opponent’s weak spots.

At first Brady was playing out of singleback and calling lots of play actions. They weren’t a spread team at first, and then they became the best spread team. And then I remember lots of times they suddenly became a power running, I form heavy team and got, fuckin, a random player like Jonas Gray 200 yards / several TDS; just because they knew that opponent had injuries or lacked front 7 talent and couldn’t stop that. Sometimes they flip mid-game. To me the adjustments they make are a HUGE part of Brady having so much playoff and 4th quarter success.

He’s gotten Randy Moss to experiment with air raids, Rob Gronkowski to experiment with power spreads, Corey Dillon that one time he wanted to try old school one-cut running via Singleback and Strong I, I feel like they ran an Air Coryell style (half west coast half stretch running) offense in Brady’s early years. The dude has practiced and gotten good at basically every staple offense in the book. Idk how you can say he’s not a great offensive coach as well as the best defensive coach.

That’s fair. We should also probably give credit to the qb that was executing all of those different offenses ;)
We’ll find out if Belichick is really that much better than every coach. Unfortunately it’s probably too late for Brady, at 43 he’s not going to go somewhere and play like he’s 35 again.
Edit: not unfortunately lol it’s time for new blood finally but Brady isn’t going to do anything to end the BB or Brady debate.

11-5 with a strong team coming off an 18-1 season and lost the division. 11-5 and missing the playoffs isn't the standard for greatest coach of all time. Cassell threw 21 tds and 11 ints that year. Brady with pretty much the same offense threw 50 tds and 8 ints. You could argue that the Cassell season shows just how much of a bump in production Brady gave that offense.

If Brady doesn't get hurt the pats probably go 13-3 or 14-2 instead of 11-5.

One of the craziest things I’ve read is that if Brady goes 12-4 in the regular season, it actually LOWERS his career average record, lol

I don’t know if that’s still true because I originally read it three or four years ago, but still. Damn.

Yeah I agree. My only point is that the season doesn’t prove Belichick would be as dominant without Brady. It proves he can win with a good team but yeah we all knew that already. It’s still a good season and he’s a great coach I just don’t know why it gets brought up all the time, nobody thinks BB can’t win without Brady. I just don’t think he’s in the Super Bowl every other year without him, and what was it 14 afc championship games? Vice versa as well though, I don’t know how you can separate the two yet.

  15. Find me a season in the last 20 years where 11-5 makes you miss the playoffs other than this one. That has to be super rare.

The crazy thing about that 2008 season is that the Dolphins won the AFC East.

And by tanking I mean he has Daniel Jones at QB and i got drunk and played like 8 games and gave him the loss in all of them so he can get a good pick

And what say you to, and again this is factual, legitimately being so goddamn good he has got multiple hall of fame career and two different dynasties into his resume? Tom is the GOAT and the difference between him and Brees/Manning is the difference between a cow and an ant.

Manning won 5 mvps during Brady’s era though. That’s insane. Brady is clearly the goat imo but it’s not that huge of a difference. I don’t think Manning and Montana are that far behind.
