But I mean granted, it's REALLY hard to get to and win a Super Bowl and the Patriots made it look easy multiple times over a decade. That in itself wouldn't happen without Brady.

Brady before... but I also honestly wouldn’t be one bit surprised if Mahomes wins 6 superbowls over his career haha, especially if he enjoys similar coaching stability that Brady has had. Dude’s football talent is nothing less than absurd.

He’s already got one in year 2 (and did it with a team that had obvious holes / unreliable defense). It’d be pretty hard to argue Mahomes is already at his peak. As far as I’m concerned there is more where that came from.

 

Tom’s gonna have like 10 years more of being considered the GOAT then it’s all Mahomes. Naturally the dude is a beast but him toughing it out in the Super Bowl really cemented his trajectory to me. He’s on a whole ‘nother level than Brady was at this point in his career. Love watching him play.

 

I’d put money down that no quarterback is ever going to get six rings again.

 

Especially with the way QBs get paid now and how it hurts the team.

 

Yeah, that’s a big part of it. I mean, two quarterbacks got 4 before the salary cap existed and then nobody has won more than 3 since, other than Brady, right?

Speaking honestly, Mahomes won’t win six because he won’t allow himself to stay healthy. The way he plays is begging for multiple injuries. I don’t want it. Not saying that at all. But I’m taking the under heavily.

Eh. If you find that elite guy sign him for 8-10 years. You'll be ahead of the market towards the end of it.

 

Mahomes is not just doing this off of raw talent though. This isn't a Brett Favre situation where he's getting away with irresponsible play. He's actually ahead of what defenses are doing in a way we haven't seen at least since Aaron Rodgers. And THEN you add in the physically exotic stuff he does that no quarterback can or is doing.

Add in Andy Reid being a way better coach than Mike McCarthy. (Proven by the fact Favre was also better when he had Reid as an OC / QB Coach.)

 

But you still gotta build a team around him.

 

You don’t think that it’s likely that Mahomes far exceeds Brady down the line?

Assuming that he does not get hurt I have no doubts. Mahomes is so much more than Brady was at this point in his career. Dude threw like 50 TDs in his second year - if he doesn’t fall off a cliff he’ll definitely be the best all time.

Brady is great no doubt (I’m 31 and from NE - he’s like all I’ve known save for a few years of Bledsoe). I love Tom Brady but he was never as dynamic as Mahomes.

 

Let’s let the guy get at least one third of Brady’s accolades and longevity before we crown him.

I’ve just read and seen these same kind of statements about Brees, Rodgers, etc... so many times and they’re not even close to what Brady is.

It’s not literally impossible for someone to surpass him, but it’s pretty damn close and I’m not gonna say anyone is even close to him until they win 4 rings, minimum.

 

I can definitely respect that point of view. Here’s hoping he stays healthy and keeps things exciting!

 

I love Mahomes and think hes elite. Winning multiple Super Bowls is hard as shit. I'd love for him to win more but wouldn't be surprised if he never won another
