32nd in the NFL should play the 1st in the XFL. Winner goes to the NFL and gets the first overall pick, loser is relegated

I don’t see any world where a team gives up Gurley and a 2nd for just a 5th. That makes no sense

I doubt it happens but the Rams need to do something

    They are in cap hell

The current logo is one of my favorites but I like this. Way better than their old timey one.

But trading Gurley doesnt free up cap space, really...there's 2-3 other moves Id make way before that. They can save easily $5-6mil by doing big signing bonus money for Ramsey over base salary. Can save up to $12mil by restructuring Donald's contract. A Robert Woods trade to get them back a draft pick would save them $5mil. Also, they are stuck with Goff for a long-time with how that contract structures, so might as well convince him to turn that roster bonus into a signing bonus and save another like $15mil in cap space.

They're still very screwed in the mid-term, because they have no draft picks and a fuck on of money tied up in a few guys, but they could reasonably keep all their free agents this year if they wanted.

I get trading Gurley. But no GM with a functioning brain cell is going to trade him AND a 2nd for a 5th round pick. That is absurd

I would fire that GM immediately personally

like has been mentioned, its simply to get rid of his contract ala Osweiler a few years ago. Dolphins also basically got a free 5th this year for taking Aqib Talib's contract

no one is going to pay you anything worthwhile for him

Then just trade him for a 5th lol. This is idiotic

Yeah, the difference is that Osweiler saved the Texans $10mil in cap space, $16mil in guaranteed salary...and at the time they were gunning for a Romo or similar legit QB.

Rams save basically the 2020 roster bonus if they trade Gurley, and its not like they are angling for some big FA RB in the process. I could see a team taking him for something like a 4th or 5th, but, that Osweiler style deal is gonna be reserved for something lik Goff's contract.

In 2021, if the Rams traded Goff, they'd save $17.5mil on the cap and $25mil in guaranteed salary...which would probably be worth a 2nd rounder to get out of...considering the way his salary keeps pre-guaranteeing

have any of you cut the cord with cable?

My fiance got into grad school so we're going to have to cut back on some things. Sling and Youtube look the best at quick glance. Anyone have experience with it?

I haven’t had cable for 4-5 years now. For most of that I just used the internet with Netflix, Hulu, Prime, YouTube, and HBO. So maybe $30 or so a month for those services since I was borrowing HBO from a buddy.

I upgraded to Hulu Live right before this past NFL season so add another $50 to that and I basically can watch everything I want. Live sports, news, tons of stuff to stream, new tv episodes the next day, etc...

yeah, we already have Netflix, Disney+, Prime, and HBO GO (borrowed from my in-laws) already so it would really only be for live TV/sports

Hulu Live isn’t perfect but for $50 or so, it does everything I need and I’m happy with it. Plus, cancel anytime without contracts like cable.

the more I look into it, Youtube TV might be best for what we watch

just sucks that it doesnt have NFL Network

  19. But can you find an internet only plan that makes not having cable TV worthwhile?

We're paying close to $200/month for cable/internet as it is with Fios

it looks like Fios offers $40 and $60/month internet only packages so that plus $50 for Youtube saves us like $100/month

    (:

I use YouTube tv, Netflix and stream movies off of the Cinema app. It's amazing how much I've saved.

Yea, I had direct tv streaming and since att bought it it's lost like 5 channels I liked including NFL network so I'm looking to switch at some point also

Found a thing on reddit where someone took every starting quarterback's stats as a whole and then tried to find "garbage time" because people kept repeating that most of Dak's stats were only due to garbage time. He found all numbers for when a team is down 17 or more in the 4th quarter, since at that point the opposing team would probably be playing prevent defense to just coast out the game and win.

Not perfect by any means obviously but still interesting.

Anyways, turns out that only 6.78% of his total yards were garbage time, which is only about 2% more than any other quarterback anyways. Just equates to roughly one games' worth of yards.

AKA just another stupid narrative about Dak and his career year being proven as nothing more than reiterated garbage that doesn't hold up to scrutiny when put in context of every other player in the league.

And even if you removed those garbage stats, for whatever reason, he goes from 5,179 yards and 33 touchdowns to 4,828 yards and 30 touchdowns. Still a fantastic year anyways so it makes no sense why people want to shit on him for his so called garbage stats.
