Mad Men is so so so good

But yeah everyone should like what they like

 

Mad men is weird because it is very very good but there's really no one to root for. Maybe peggy but I'm blanking on anyone else.

 

It’s just a window into a time period/location.

 

But goddamn what a window.

 

Stan maybe?

 

Everyone sucks

 

Yup it’s my all time favorite show

 

It doesn’t moralize, but why should it when bad men never face consequences in reality? It takes stances, it never lets you forget right and wrong, but it has a lot to say about how we value right and wrong depending on different circumstances

 

Yeah, I get that. I don’t think it’s a bad show. I just don’t have it nearly as high in my rankings as the rest of the world does.

 

For me, it’s Mad Men then Twin Peaks and then a massive gap between all other shows.

 

See, that’s wild to me. I’d take Breaking Bad over Mad Men 10,000 times in a row. Just a preference thing.

 

I was minoring in gender studies when that show was on so I would be critiquing Betty Friedan in class then get to see Mad Men deconstruct it, it was great

 

Breaking Bad is fine. It loses its impact towards the end, didn’t love Walt’s finale. The Jesse stuff was great though.

 

I liked Breaking Bad a lot through the first two seasons and then halfway-ish through the third season it took a step up to another echelon. Around the “Fly” episode, actually. Then I started loving it. And the rest of it was very, very good. Still think it’s a fantastic show worth watching.

But I don’t know, Mad Men just hits a whole other nerve for me. Watching it transports me somewhere else entirely. I’m transfixed when I watch it.

 

Man, I really love Gallup. I really hope he continues developing and stays here a long time.

There's a lot of really good tv.

 

Breaking Bad has a number of legitimate flaws but the costumes and colors always irritated me and I understand that’s an illegitimate complaint but I feel like I can make it in the nfl thread rather than the show or tv thread because we talk about colors and uniforms and things that don’t matter much

 

Too much, I'll never be caught up

 

I get caught up in rewatching things. I just blew through justified again, watching parks and rec again, want to watch rectify again, etc
