I wanna know what it’s like to have a WR like any of the ones mentioned already (sans Hill) on my team

 

Some of these are soft zone coverages, some of these are Edelman calling a timeout, strapping roller skates onto Talib, and then running his route.

 

Chark made some terrible Jags games tolerable to watch haha

that's about it. You need a good team behind them, or WRs don't matter

 

edited my post cause I clearly didn't read this part. To clear up any confusion **Chark is not on the level of any of those guys haha. Hoping he ascends to that level but he ain't that good yet.

my new king Dev Parker only had 3 games under 50 yards and he got hurt in one of them

 

I still have nightmares about his career game against the Eagles

Good thread showing the positives and negatives of Amari Cooper

 

I mean it's about fucking time for us. Jaguars' best receivers since the only "great" WR we've ever had (Jimmy Smith):

-Old Jimmy Smith (Had 1,000 yards in 2005 at age 34... Lost his career when arrested for cocaine possession)
-Matt Jones (converted 6'6" QB, crazy athlete but never had a 1k yard season. Lost his career when arrested for cocaine -possession)
-Reggie Williams (slow 6'5" receiver with inconsistent hands, but somehow really good hands in traffic. His best year was 626 yards and 10 TDs. Lost his career when arrested for cocaine possession.)
-Mike Sims-Walker (Basically like a Derrius Heyward-Bey, "sorta" physical receiver but really his long speed is his main skill. HIs best season was 869 yards in David Garrard's best year. In year 5 he got cut, got hurt, went to the CFL, got cut, flamed out.)
-Justin Blackmon (would probably be one of the better receivers in the league today if marijuana wasn't against the substance abuse code. Regardless, he lost his career - suspended indefinitely - a few weeks after he had a 4 TD game with Blaine fucking Gabbert.)
-Allen Robinson (1400 yards, 14 TD with fuckin Blake Bortles, then he tears his ACL and Caldwell lowballs him. Gone by year 5.)
-Keelan Cole randomly being good and then having the most drops in the NFL the year afterward???
-180 pound, woman abuser, Dede Westbrook almost getting 750 yards??


We need Chark to keep on the path of progress lol it has been 15 years, and the only 1,000 yard receiver we had in that time was 2015 A-Rob. One year out of the last 15 we had a receiver eclipse 1,000 yards. How sad is that?

 

At a quick cursory look, that tweet analysis seems solid and I’d agree with it. I’d love if he was one of the elite top five receivers, but he’s not. I do still think he’s top 10ish, at least top 15.

 

Completely agreed. I think he is absolutely a top 15 WR with top 10 potential if he can just string it across a full season.

 

Yep. And what’s great for us is that typically when he’s got a low yardage or zero touchdown game, it’s most likely because he’s getting double-teamed which just opens it up for Based God Gallup and Zeke to feast.

 

Would he be top 10 if he had Goff or Wentz?

Having a guy like Gallup is huge for that team. He and Cooper make for a very good, young duo in the league.

 

Also, I’m not sure Cooper’s play is necessarily worth what he got paid, but good for him for getting that dough and it speaks volumes about his character that he turned down more money elsewhere to stay in Dallas. He’s huge for that team too so good on Dallas for not fucking that one up.

 

Hot take: Goff or Wentz wouldn't help Cooper, but McVay sure af would lol

Other way round.

He fits Goff's style of play more than Wentz's imo.

 

Cooper helped save Dak’s career, no doubt in my mind. Idk of any other better receivers we could have got in 2018 or 2019 who could step in and majorly contribute that quickly.
