My beef isn't with Randall being optimistic. I'm the one posting STIDHAM SZN over and over. Optimism is fine. My beef, and where I got frustrated was with posting a reasonable argument, it going through some sort of blender, and coming out as a man-made of straw.

 

Like, I would hope those players get better, but I’ve watched football before so maybe they don’t. All I know is doing nothing doesn’t typically lead to improvement

 

Like it’s really not like QB / WR improving from year 1 to 2 or 2 to 3 RARELY happens. It in fact happens all the time, so much so that just labeling their offense as “headed for regression” is an assumption you can’t make.

 

I want that team to be good so badly and it sucks that every week is pain for that team. So much talent being wasted away

 

Well, we can make that assumption though. Theres also the defense, which is sure to be far worse.

And I’m saying I don’t agree with that. Our defense was already trash because our good players didn’t want to play for us anymore. Our offense, however, has SEVERAL players trending up, to the point where even if one of them regresses, as long as it’s not Minshew overall our offense should improve.

 

I guarantee that's not true

 

The Jags offense does not have “SEVERAL” players trending up. I would feel optimistic about Minshew and Chark. That’s it. Nobody else showed me anything worth getting excited about

 

Our defense wasnt trash. It was middle of the road and Yannick and Calais had good years. Bouye was still good.

 

Randall was saying with a level of certainty that the Jags offense would improve. I said, well, maybe not since Fournette may not make it the full season since this was the first time, or Minshew may regress or the team may simply give up. Randall has now turned that numerous times into I have said 100% guarantee Minshew and the Jags at large is heading to regression. He's also misconstrued an argument about them being bad last year and getting worse into some weird nonsense I honestly haven't even been able to follow. Frankly, I just miss the outdoors.

 

Last year, WITH all 3 of those guys healthy, it was trash.

Fournette objectively had a very good year last year. Taylor has potential as well.

 

Fournette doesn’t move the needle for me one bit, but Taylor could

 

Randall...if there's a fire burning. That's already bad. If you add gas to it, that's worse.

If the defense was already trash, and you remove from it 33% of the people who started and don't replace them, that is in a vacuum worse.
