An UDFA on IR being your WR2 by a country mile doesnt scream "we're good"

 

If by “deep” you mean you have a lot of WR4s and WR5s....

There isn’t even close to a quality WR2 behind Parker on this list

Wilson is a 3 or 4
Grant is a 4
Hurns is a 4

I didn't say they were good. I said its probably our deepest position. Which it is, considering the state of the roster right now.

 

Oh yeah, i mean, it can be the "deepest" but i would still absolutely look into drafting a WR. Especially over a RB in the 1st/early 2nd

 

Yeah I mean I don’t think the “deepest” logic is as strong as the concept of drafting a good WR to pair with Parker, and then suddenly that position group is a strength of your team.

But hey this is a very defense heavy draft so I get that too.

 

And believe me I am worried about my own squad lol. After watching them trust Coughlin over Jalen Ramsey, there’s no limit to how dumb they could be

 

I'd look into drafting anything over a RB in the 1st/early 2nd

 

I definitely agree with that for this draft class. Lot of good 2nd - 4th round guys but nobody who's "special" in the sense that you draft them first round.

 

JK Dobbins is special

D’Andre Swift is too

 

Dobbins is the guy I want most

 

The argument that RBs shouldn’t go in the first round is not great

10 of the top 19 rushers were first rounders

Chubb and Cook were first round talents that fell due to injury concerns

Mixon fell because he’s a turd

It’s much harder to find an Aaron Jones, Chris Carson, or Philip Lindsay than people want to admit

 

I personally would target Etienne haha

 

Now that Kylin Hill and Travis Etienne are out, JK
Dobbins is so much more valuable

He can contribute at a high level right away

 

I was only saying it for this draft class. for a good 60% of draft classes I actually agree with you.

 

RBs are going to help you faster than most WRs

Yeah I'm not so fond of this RB class in general tbh. It's not like it has no good options but i don't LOVE any of them.

Maybe AJ Dillon in day 3 would be exciting.

Dobbins is better than Josh Jacobs and any back in 2019’s draft

 

3 RBs in the top 10 of YPC among qualified players were drafted in the first round (and one of those was a FA pickup). Yardage is more of a function of volume than it is of effectiveness, while YPC is a function of actual running game effectiveness, which better translates to wins.

Not indicative, but interesting: Every team but one with a player on this list who they didn’t draft in the first round made the playoffs, and neither of the teams who spent a first round pick on the RB made it

 

I'm not saying don't ever take a RB in the 1st. Just that i dont see the need cause I dont think anyone aside from Miami would be targetting one

 

In my defense, I've adjusted my take to be like the top 25. If you're drafting in the ladder half you've probably got a good team anyway so go nuts. I'd also argue having one of the top rushers doesn't matter too much to me considering most of the teams in the playoffs don't have top 10-15 rushers. 5 of the top 15 made the playoffs or 2 of the top 10.
